KASSIDIE RAE McMILLIN - 10 yo - Seminole FL

SEMINOLE, Fla. - Kassie gave the gift of life to three other children
when her father donated her organs. Kassidie Rae McMillin was a beautiful
10-year-old girl with a radiant smile and big, bright eyes.
Sadly, Kassie looked very different in the final hours of her life.

“They had her head shaved, and they had removed a
portion of her skull to compensate for the swelling, so she had an
incision going all the way across her head, which was covered with
staples,” said Derrick McMillin, Kassie’s father. All of that
pain was inflicted on this child by her own mother, Tina Marie Foster,
according to investigators. They said Foster shot her only daughter in
the back of the head as she slept. We were told she then pulled a
cover over her daughter before turning the gun on herself. According
to McMillin, his ex-wife wrote in a suicide note that she committed this
unspeakable act because her husband was leaving her.
“It was very selfish, very selfish. It hurt me because I'm the other parent
and I couldve taken care of her,” said McMillin. But
in the note, McMillin said, Foster wrote she didn't want her daughter
going through life without her. Now Kassie's father is forced to go
through life without his only daughter. But in all of this
darkness there is some hope. Kassie gave the gift of life to three other
children when her father donated her organs.
“If they couldn't save my little girl, I might as well
try to save other children's lives,” said McMillin. Kassie
did just that with her kidneys, her liver and the valves from her
heart. McMillin said in heaven, Kassie is whole just like in her
pictures. Just before she died, McMillin took his baby girl's
hand in his and pressed it up against a slab of plaster so that he’d
keep the imprint of her hand -- just a tiny piece of her that he'll have
forever. “The least I could do was save other children and then she could
live on, through those children,” he said.

How totally F'ing sad! Some days I just gotta say, WTF!
I, and may others, commit our time to posting these stories so that
blameless, innocent kids aren't slaughtered or tortured.
I really want to believe that someone else in a similar situation will
read these stories and have second thoughts about their plans.
