ORLANDO, Fla. -- In the midst of her high-profile murder trial, one of Casey Anthony’s old friends has returned to the Orange County Jail.
Robyn Adams, a convicted drug dealer, served six months with Anthony in late 2008 and early 2009.
About 50 letters exchanged between Adams and Anthony were released in 2010. The letters led to the suspension of a corrections officer at the jail accused of helping the pair pass the notes.
In the letters, Anthony writes of her personal struggles, as well as her love for her daughter, Caylee, who disappeared in the summer of 2008. Anthony, who could face the death penalty if convicted, maintained for months that a nanny by the name of Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez kidnapped her then 2-year-old, but in her defense's opening statement, lead attorney Jose Baez stated that Caylee drowned in the Anthony family's above-ground swimming pool in June 2008.
