Clare County teen is missing

A 13-year-old Clare County boy has been
missing since Wednesday, and police believe he may have left his home in
his family’s vehicle.

The Clare County Sheriff’s Office said a
missing or stolen vehicle was reported at 6:43 a.m. Wednesday on North
Kirby Avenue in Winterfield Township.

The vehicle owner’s son, Jerry Don Hayes Jr., was also missing.

Police believe Jerry drove to Evart and picked up a 14-year-old female friend.

There has been no cell phone activity from either of the teens and law enforcement is actively looking for the two.

The missing vehicle is a 2000 black Chevrolet Z71 with license plate 4JUL66.

Jerry was last believed to be wearing a black in color “Monster” baseball
hat, shorts and tennis shoes that were described as black with a lime
green outline. He is approximately 5 foot 6 and 180 pounds with blond
hair and blue eyes.

The sheriff’s office said the vehicle does not have any identifying markings or features.

Officers Searching for Missing Teenagers in Clare and Osceola Counties

Deputies are looking for two Northern Michigan teens after they took off early Friday morning.
Officers say around midnight on Friday, 13 year-old Jerry Don Hayes Jr. took his dad's pick up truck and left his home in Clare County.
They say he then traveled to Evart in Osceola County to pick up his friend, 14 year-old Danielle Leeann Taylor.
The last place Jerry was seen was at the Wesco gas station in Evart around one a.m. on Friday morning.
Officers found his cell phone there - but now, don't have any idea where the two teens could be.
They say the teens are driving a 2000 Black Chevrolet Z-71 pick-up truck with Michigan plates 4JUL66.

TV5 has learned the two teens missing since Friday morning have been found.
The Clare County Sheriff's department says 13-year-old Jerry Hayes
Jr. and 14-year-old Danielle Taylor were discovered in Osceola County.
Hayes had taken his father's pickup truck and fled his home in Clare
County. He then traveled to Evart to pick up his friend, Taylor.
The teen's father, Jerry Hayes Sr., said someone spotted the pickup in the parking lot of the Marion VFW Hall.
Hayes Sr. put up flyers all around town after his son went missing. He says someone noticed the flyer and called him.
Authorities said neither teen appeared to be injured or harmed in any
way. The teen's father tells TV5 he has no idea why they ran away.
