Police in Longmont are asking for the
public's help in locating a 20-year-old wanted on multiple charges,
including assisting a 15-year-old to run away and violating a court
order to stay away from the girl.
Kyle Brooks, 20, has a lengthy criminal history according to Colorado
court records, including possession of drug paraphernalia, theft,
burglary and obstructing a police officer.
The 15-year-old girl, Mikaela Fryberger, is described by police as Brooks' girlfriend.
She ran away from home on Sunday, police say, and was last spotted with Brooks.
Police came across Brooks on Tuesday but he was able to escape.
"Both Kyle and Mikaela know the police are looking for them and have
been staying with friends in the Longmont area," according to a media
release from Longmont Police.
Mikaela's mother, Kristin Danielson, said she believes the girl is
now being held against her will, and has posted fliers around the city
in an effort to help police.
Mikaela is 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing about 105 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.
Anyone who spots Brooks or Fryberger, or knows the pair's whereabouts, is asked to call (303) 651-8501 or 9-1-1.

LONGMONT -- By Wednesday morning, Kristen Danielson's 15-year-old daughter had been gone for nine days.
In that time, Danielson averaged one hour of sleep night until she finally resorted to a sleeping pill on Tuesday evening.
Her home in northwestern Longmont is "command central" in the search
for Mikaela "Kiki" Fryberger, who apparently ran away with 20-year-old
Kyle Brooks, a wanted felon she was forbidden from dating.
Police and a network of family and friends have been searching for the teenager, whom officers believe is in danger.
"I want to tell her to come home," Danielson said. "We'll figure it out. We love her and we miss her."
For the family, it's more than just missing her, though.

"We're scared," she said.
Police are not treating the case as a standard runaway given how long
the teenager has been away from home, Longmont Police Cmdr. Tim Lewis said Wednesday.
Brooks' criminal history and three permanent restraining orders
against him -- including one barring him from seeing Kiki -- are
particularly concerning, Lewis said.
Police have secured a warrant to arrest Brooks on suspicion of felony
contributing to the delinquency of a minor, protection order
violations, obstruction of police officers, and violating bail bond
conditions. Other charges are under consideration, he said.
So far, police do not know the circumstances of Kiki's departure.
"(The couple) are also taking steps to avoid her family and law enforcement," he said.
Danielson said she believes Brooks and Kiki's friends know where to
find them, but they are withholding information to protect Brooks. She
hopes a cash reward of $2,000, offered through Northern Colorado Crime
Stoppers, will help shake loose some useful information. Tips so far
have proven to be a step or two behind the pair.

Fliers featuring photos of her daughter and Brooks have been plastered around Longmont and
communities up and down the Front Range since the teen's disappearance.
Danielson said she can't believe how many people have turned out to
support her and help distribute the fliers, both physically and on Facebook.
"It has been tremendous, the number of people who are willing to do something," she said. "There are a lot of angels out there."
She and her ex-husband have done a lot of searching themselves. She
sat in her car at Loomiller Park for hours watching Brooks' parked car,
which has since been impounded, she said. She has put up fliers around
neighborhoods where her daughter would hang out and personally asked Brooks' friends for help.
A new batch of fliers offering the reward were printed Wednesday and hit the streets via family and friends.
The investigation has revealed that Kiki and Brooks spent a couple of days in Sterling shortly after the girl's disappearance.
"I think they are back in Longmont," she said.
Brooks' relationship with the girl previously landed him in jail.
In January, Danielson said she found out Brooks was dating Kiki, who
was 14 at the time. She obtained a civil protection order, which she
said Brooks violated. A criminal protection order was then put in place,
but Brooks violated that as well, she said.
After Kiki disappeared, Danielson searched her teenager's room and
found a cache of jail letters from Brooks, delivered via Brooks' mother,
that asked the girl to come back to him, she said.
Kiki's phone is not in her mother's home, but Danielson said it has
been turned off since June 19, when her daughter said she was running to
a friend's home on an errand. Danielson now believes that was a ploy to leave with Brooks.
The Longmont High School sophomore had been a stellar student through
middle school, but began to struggle during her freshman year when she
made a new group of friends, her mother said.Kiki was a varsity
cheerleader as a freshman, she said, showing off a photo of Kiki in her cheerleading uniform.
"Everybody loves her. She has just made some really bad decisions," Danielson said. "It is the pull of these kids."
Kiki's 12-year-old brother, C.J., said he hopes his sister will make
her way home soon. He recalled his sister's love of the "Wizard of Oz"
and bragged that she had done well in school.
"She's really great when she is not hanging out with the bad people," he said.
Anyone with information about Kiki and Brooks' whereabouts is asked
to call the Longmont Police Department at 303-651-8501 or Northern
Colorado Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or nococrimestoppers.com . Tipsters may choose to remain anonymous.
A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information that leads to Kiki's return.

she is in danger.Mikaela "Kiki" Fryberger disappeared two weeks
ago.Longmont police said it isn't a typical runaway case because of the
man they said she ran away with: 20-year-old Kyle Brooks.
7NEWS discovered that Brooks has an eight-page rap sheet, which includes charges for robbery, menacing and weapons possession."It scares me. It scares me a lot," said Kristin Danielson, Fryberger's mother. She doesn't believe her daughter would disappear for two weeks of her own free will.Danielson
said her 15-year-old daughter, a varsity cheerleader and honors
student, recently fell in with the wrong crowd, where she met Brooks.Danielson tried to stop the relationship."We've had a restraining order against him since February," she said.7NEWS
found in court records that multiple women have restraining orders
against Brooks. Between January and May, Brooks was charged with five
separate cases of violating protection orders, according to court
records. His criminal history also has Longmont police concerned about Fryberger's safety.Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information in this case.Danielson
said that Fryberger may have left willingly, but she and police fear
that after two weeks with no word that, "There's either some pressure
for her to stay or she may not know how to come back or he's not letting
her go."Fryberger's 12-year-old brother, C.J., has been helping put up fliers all over Longmont."I just really miss her and hope she comes home," he said. The community has launched an effort to help find the girl, posting flyers in neighborhoods and passing the word on Facebook."Come on. Do the right thing. If you see them, if you know anything, please call the police. Bring her home," said Danielson.Police
said they believe Fryberger and Brooks are still somewhere in Longmont,

as an accessory to a crime.Police said they believe Brooks is
part of a group of men between 20 and 25 years old hanging out with
young girls in Longmont and providing them with drugs and alcohol.

LONGMONT, Colo. – A 20-year-old fugitive has been arrested and the
15-year-old Longmont teen with whom he has been traveling is now in
police care, according to Longmont Police.

The pair had been
missing for more than two weeks when Longmont Police and the Boulder
County Drug Task Force found Kyle Brooks, 20, and Mikaela “Kiki”
Fryberger, 15, near a park in Boulder near Pawnee Dr. and Thunderbird Dr.

According to Kiki’s mother Kristin, her daughter met Kyle Brooks, a convicted felon, last year.
“When I found out he was 20, I asked him to quit coming around,
and he didn't and that's when I got the restraining order.” But
Danielson says despite her best efforts to keep the two apart, they
continued to see each other.
“When I went to the courthouse
that's when I found out about his eight page rap sheet. He has some
scary crimes,” said Danielson.

Danielson says Brooks violated
his restraining order two weeks ago when he lured Kiki away with drugs
and the promise of a life of a without supervision.

Longmont Police say their investigation is ongoing, and they anticipate filing additional charges against Brooks.

Brooks’ bond on the warrant for his arrest is $50,000, and as of July 5 his charges include:
