Casey Anthony Attorney, Dorothy Sims Avoids Questions By Giving Indirect Answers

Tonight on the Joy Behar Show on CNN’s sister station, HLN, Behar’s guest was Dorothy Clay Sims, one of the attorney’s for Casey Anthony. Personally it seemed to me that Sims was more or less there to babysit Anthony during the trial though.

Sims was the one that seemed to be coaching Casey letting her know when it was time to cry or look upset during the trial. She sat next to her comforting her like a mother hen would do to her chicks. She would put her arm around Casey consoling her. Casey would clearly show her frustrations with others as she talked to Sims during the trial and during breaks.

Well while talking to Sims, Joy Behar directly asks if she had children and when Sims said yes, she asked would she let Casey Anthony babysit her kids for her. First thing Sims said was her kids were all grown now but she skillfully avoided answering the question directly. In fact she paused as she appeared to try and make sure she answered the right way. All she could say was that she liked Casey and came to trust her. The she said she felt very comfortable around the Casey “that she knew”

Joy made the comment that of course you would feel comfortable if she believed she was completely innocent and Sims just had a blank look on her face with a slight smile. Behar asked would she let Casey babysit her grandchildren and the expression on Sims’ face could be read loud and clear that she wouldn’t but she wouldn’t answer yes or no, she again would only say that the Casey Anthony she came to know made her very comfortable.
