CALLY JOBE - 16 Months - Ashland KY

Kentucky State Police have arrested Boyd County woman in connection
with the May death of her 16-month-old daughter and are searching for
another suspect in the case.






Lakyn Jobe,19, of Ashland was arrested at home on Carter Avenue
Monday after a Boyd County grand jury returned the indictment in the May
3 death of Cally Jobe. Police say Lakryn Jobe allegedly left the
toddler at her home with an acquaintance, Brian Brewster, 45, formerly
of Ashland. Upon Lakyn Jobe's return, the toddler was unresponsive and
was subsequently transported by Jobe to Kings Daughters Medical Center
and then flown to Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) Women and
Children's Hospital where she died of her injuries. According to the
West Virginia State Medical Examiner's office, the toddler died as a
result of abusive closed head injuries.

Jobe was charged with first-degree criminal abuse.

The grand jury also returned indictments against Brewster on charges
of first-degree manslaughter and first-degree persistent felony
offender. Brewster also goes by the name of "Trinity" and his current
whereabouts are unknown. Brewster was an acquaintance of Jobe's and had
been staying at Jobe's residence.

Jobe is being held in the Boyd County Detention Center. Brewster is
still at large. Residents are asked to contact the State Police with any

A nationwide manhunt is on for a suspected baby killer.
Cally Jobe, who was only 16 months old, died of abusive head trauma.
The child's mother is in jail on abuse charges, and police want to find the so-called baby sitter.
WSAZ.com has the latest on possible criminal activity that surrounded this child.
We now know that the suspected killer, Brian “Trinity” Brewster, has served prison time on drug-trafficking convictions.
The child was hospitalized and then died in early May
from abusive head trauma. The investigation, though, shows her short
life was likely troubled for some time before her death.
Still deeply troubled by his granddaughter's death,
Kyle Clement showed us the commemorative tattoo of Cally Jobe on his
leg. But he says he was mostly unaware about what was going on in his
stepdaughter Lakyn's home along 52nd Street.
"It sounded like Lakyn lived another life," WSAZ.com's Randy Yohe asked Clement.
He replied, "I think so, but I didn't really know.”
Police say 19-year-old Lakyn Jobe took her unresponsive daughter Cally to the hospital on May 1.
The toddler was transferred to CAMC Women's and
Children's Hospital where she died two days later of abusive closed head trauma.
But the prosecutor says when she was hospitalized,
Cally only weighed 17 pounds -- 8 pounds below average for a 16-month-old girl.
After getting the delayed autopsy report, police jailed mother Lakyn Jobe on criminal child abuse.
Justice says Brewster fled the state immediately
after the child's death and has been charged with manslaughter and being a persistent felony offender.
Criminal records show Brewster has served prison time
in South Carolina for trafficking marijuana and manufacturing meth.
Investigators say drug involvement locally has not been ruled out yet.
State police say they do have leads on Brewster’s whereabouts.
Lakyn Jobe is in the Boyd County Jail on a $10,000 bond. Her arraignment is set for this Friday.

Cally Erica Jobe, 16 months of Ashland, went to be with Jesus Tuesday,
May 3, 2011, in CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital in Charleston, W.Va.
Cally was born Jan. 5, 2010, in Ashland, a daughter of Lakyn Nicole Jobe of Ashland.
Cally was an organ donor and her organs will help save several children’s lives.
She was a happy child and was greatly loved by her family. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by maternal grandparents,
Kyle “Pappy” and Nici “Mimi” Bowshier Clement of Ashland; maternal
great-grandmother, Nina “Nana” Knisley Bowshier of Ironton, Ohio;
paternal great-grandparents, Ralph E. and Diane Williams Clement of
Franklin Furnace, Ohio; two aunts, Desiree Jobe of Joshua, Texas, and
Leah Wheeler of Ashland; and one uncle, Dalton Jobe of Fort Worth, Texas.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2011, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by senior minister Brent Baker.
Friends may call at 1 p.m. until funeral time Monday at the funeral home.
