CESAR SOTO - 5 yo/ Accused: Father, Jose|Mother murdered - Santa Fe NM

Santa Fe police are looking for a man who shot and killed his
ex-girlfriend before taking off with their young son early Tuesday
morning. Police say Jose Soto, 39, went to the home of his
34-year-old ex-girlfriend where the two got into an argument at which
time Soto shot and killed the woman. Soto then fled the home with the
couple’s 5-year-old son.

The young boy was last seen wearing camouflage pajama bottoms, t-shirt and a blue cast on his right arm.
Soto,
who is considered armed and dangerous, is believed to be driving a 1997
Ford Expedition with NM license plate KAX-140. The car has a red hood,
red fender and red door.
Soto also goes by the name, Jose Melendez-Trillo.
Anyone
with information on Soto or the child’s whereabouts is asked to call

The Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department is now stressing that 5-year-old Cesar Soto is considered a missing endangered person.

Deputies believe the little boy was forcefully taken by his father, Jose Soto, Tuesday morning at approximately 2:50 AM.

Jose Soto is wanted in connection with the homicide of the child’s mother.

Cesar Soto was last seen wearing camouflage pajama pants and a t-shirt.
He also has a blue cast on his right arm. He was last seen in Santa Fe
at about 2:50 a.m. Tuesday.

Deputies believe Cesar is with his father, Jose Soto, aka Jose
Melendez-Trillo, who is wanted in connection with a homicide that
happened at about that time Tuesday morning at 521 Airport Road, in the
Casitas Mobile Home Park in Santa Fe.

Police believe Soto, 39, entered the residence of his ex-girlfriend and mother of his children and began to argue with her.

At some point during the argument Soto retrieved a firearm and shot the
victim, a 34 year old female. The suspect then proceeded to take his
son, Cesar Soto, from the residence.

Soto is believed to be driving a mostly green 1997 Ford Expedition,
bearing NM license plate, KAX-140. The vehicle has a red hood, red
fender and red door.

Soto should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police and sheriff's departments across the region are searching for a
Santa Fe man believed to have murdered his ex-girlfriend and kidnapped
their youngest son. Sheriff's deputies say Jose Soto went into
the victim's mobile home on Airport Road in Santa Fe early Tuesday
morning. They believe the two started arguing, and then witnesses say
Soto shot Patricia Cisneros, 34.
He then grabbed 5-year-old Cesar Melendez and took off.
Detectives
aren't sure where the man is headed. Soto, who also goes by Jose
Melendez Trillo, has ties to Mexico, Colorado, Missouri and the town of
Bernaillo. He was last seen driving a green 1997 Ford Expedition with a
red hood, red fender and red door. The SUV has New Mexico license plate
KAX-140.
Authorities are desperately searching for the little
boy. He was last seen wearing camouflage pajama bottoms and a
light-green T-shirt. Cesar also has a blue cast on his right arm. His
family is eager to get him back.
"(Soto) didn't even have money.
He doesn't have a job or anything, so Cesar might be hungry," said
Cisneros' niece Gabriela Cazares.
The couple has two other children together ages 15 and 11. All three, including Cesar were inside when the incident happened.
Investigators
think Soto could be armed and dangerous. The victim's family reports
the couple was fighting earlier in the week. They say Soto stole
Cisneros' cell phone on Monday and had been fighting about their
involvment with other partners.
A fund has been set up for the victim's family at Wells Fargo Banks in Santa Fe. It is under Patricia Cisneros.

Fe County authorities say they have located a young boy taken by his
father Tuesday after the child's mother was found with a fatal
gunshot wound.The
Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office says around midnight, patrol officers
located 39-year-old Jose Melendez-Trillo along with his 5-year-old son.
After a four-hour standoff early Wednesday, Melendez-Trillo released his
son. The sheriff's office says Melendez-Trillo then fatally
shot himself.
Lt. Adan Mendoza says the boy was not harmed.
