"Newborn John" GALEANO - 4 Months - Miami FL

A Miami man is accused of almost putting a deadly squeeze on an infant who
wouldn't stop crying, Hialeah Police said.
Jeffrie Alexander Galeano, 20, has been charged with aggravated child abuse and torture for
allegedly breaking the ribs of his 4-month-old son.
Police said Galeano became frustrated while watching the baby because he wouldn't stop crying
Thursday evening. The child's mother was not home, police said.
Galeano grabbed the infant and squeezed his son's ribs and
shook the boy at the same time, an arrest report stated.
The baby stopped crying and Galeano placed his son in the crib, the report stated. When he came
back a few minutes later, the child was unconscious, the report continued.
Galeano also told detectives he squeezed the child's ribs on Aug. 29 to make his son stop crying, police said.
The infant suffered several fractured ribs and other ribs were healing from a previous injury,
doctors at Miami Children's Hospital said. The child also had
hemorrhaging in his brain, which doctors told detectives was the result
of Shaken Baby Syndrome, the report stated.
Galeano is being held in Miami-Dade jail on $100,000 bond. It was unclear if he had an attorney Friday.
