Police were searching today for a 12-year-old girl who went missing last week from her West Side
residence in the city's Austin neighborhood, officials said.

Ebony Sullivan left for school Sept. 15 at about 8 a.m. from her home
located on the 1600 block of North Mango Avenue. However, she did not
attend school that day or since. The school, Ella Flagg Young School is
located at Parkside Avenue and Hirsch Street, police said.

Sullivan's family is unaware of any friends she may have beyond a
girl name Brianna. The girl is known to frequent the area of North
Avenue between Central and Menard avenues, and police said this was the
second time she has went missing.

Police described Sullivan as black, about 5 feet 2 inches tall, 140 pounds with a light complexion and a mole on her forehead.

A 12-year-old girl left for school on September 15 on the city's West Side and she has not been heard from since.


Police say Ebony Sullivan didn't make it to class that day at Ella Flagg Young School in the North Austin community.
Sullivan has been known to spend a lot of time in the area of North Avenue between Central and Menard.

UPDATE -- Ebony Sullivan, a 12-year-old West Side girl who
had been missing since Sept. 15, has been found safe, Chicago police
said in a news release today. No other information was available.
