LC man pleads guilty to manslaughter of infant

LAKE CHARLES, La. - A Lake Charles man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter of his girlfriend's 5-month-old daughter in 2007.
Orlando Dion King had been scheduled for trial Wednesday on a charge of first-degree murder. The American Press reports (bit.ly/oAGw4S) that he admitted killing the baby by accident while under the influence of PCP and cocaine.
KPLC-TV reports (bit.ly/pKTHVm) that state District Judge Wilford Carter sentenced King to 16 1/2 years in prison with credit for time served.
King's girlfriend, Yowanda C. Ceasor, pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree cruelty to a juvenile. KPLC says her plea agreement required her to testify against King.
Authorities began investigating Ja'myiah Ceasor's death after an autopsy found that her skull was broken in several places.
