Late Tuesday morning, Cheyenne police found the body of 13 year old
Cheyenne resident Alexander Frye on property owned by the Union Pacific

Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Lew Simpson says Alexander was
reported missing by his father in the early morning hours of January

began searching for Frye.

Simpson says due to the nature of the situation, the Victim
Assistance Division of the Cheyenne Police Department will hold a
Critical Incident Debriefing at the American Legion Post 6 on East

CHEYENNE — A 13-year-old Cheyenne boy was found dead Tuesday morning, three days after he went missing from his home and a massive search ensued.

The body of Alexander Frye was found about 10 a.m., according to Cheyenne Police Department spokesman Lew Simpson. His death was ruled a suicide.

Frye was last seen at his home near downtown Cheyenne about 6 p.m., when his father left for an American Legion New Year's Eve event, according to Bryan Grzegortyk, who had been coordinating the search for Frye.

Frye stayed home to take care of his dog that was injured in a fight with another dog earlier in the day, Grzegortyk said. When his father returned after midnight, Frye was gone, Grzegortyk said.

His body was found in a field south of the Union Pacific railyard near the Ames Avenue underpass, Simpson said.

Frye's next-door neighbor Lindsey Power said he was a smart, kind kid.

"He was an old-school gentleman, but in a kid's body," Power said. "If anyone was outside doing yard work or something, he was always the first one to ask if they needed help."

Approximately 250 people were involved in the three-day search.
