Casey Anthony: Ring in her nose? Give her the hook

Casey Anthony’s video blog about her piercings — including one in her nose — has people talking.

Could her defense team’s smartest move have been keeping her off the stand at her murder trial?

It seems to me that her attorneys dodged disaster. What do you think?

Anthony is a lot like the silent movie star in “Singin’ in the Rain” who loses any appeal when people hear her squeaky voice.

As long as Anthony kept quiet, she had some mystery. Now everyone has confirmation, in two videos, that she is astoundingly vapid and self-absorbed.

Central Florida News 13 made the new video its “Top Story” this morning. The cable news channel said it received the latest footage from the same group that claimed to release the first video in which Anthony talked about adopting a dog. News 13 anchor Janelle Jordan noted that the woman in the new video has a dark haircut; the earlier video showed Anthony with a blond bob cut.

”In the video, the woman talks about a new nose piercing and never mentions Caylee,” Jordan said.

In July, Anthony was acquitted of murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

Jordan added that News 13 was trying to confirm that it was, indeed, Anthony in the new video. But WFTV-Channel 9 said it was Anthony.

“Casey is more upbeat. She is showing off new nose and ear piercings. She does not appear to be camera shy,” Ken Tyndall reported. In the first video released this week, Anthony said she was camera shy.

The stations reported that Anthony did check in with her probation officer on Thursday. She remains unemployed and said her computer was recently hacked.
