OKLAHOMA CITY -- A man convicted of killing his own daughter in 2009 was sentenced to life in prison.
Jason Day, 27, was convicted of first-degree murder by means of child
abuse in the death of 5-month-old Natalie Emami in Feb. 2009. Day will
have a chance at parole.KOCO Eyewitness News 5's Michael Seiden
was in court on Friday and reported that Day's family was there, too.
They showed no emotion.Day's attorney asked for mercy because, he said, there was still doubt as to his client's guilt.Prosecutors
said Day shook his baby daughter while he was alone with her inside an
RV. He told police that he ran inside the RV and found Natalie not
breathing.According to a police report, Day tried to perform CPR on his daughter after she stopped breathing.Day did not make any comments in court on Friday.
