Police have arrested a second man in connection with the disappearance
of a 12-year-old Shreveport girl yesterday. But the girl still hasn't
been found.Amber White was reported missing after she didn't
return home from her neighborhood pool. She's 5'9", 140 pounds, has
reddish-blonde hair and brown eyes.Detectives tracked down a car
that matched a description that witnesses saw Amber get into. That's
when they arrested Brandon Player, 19, on a charge of contributing to
the delinquency of a minor. His information under questioning led
police to a home they believe Player may have taken her to on Lash
Street. That's where they arrested Henry E. Lee, 25. He's charged with
aggravated kidnapping of a child. If you think you've seen Amber
White, call Crimestoppers at 673-7373.

The mother of a missing Shreveport, Louisiana, girl said Tuesday that
one of two men suspected in her daughter's disappearance spent time at
their home, playing video games and hanging out with their family. Henry
Lee was "always very polite, very nice. We thought he was a very decent
person," Karen White, the mother of missing 12-year-old Amber White,
told HLN's "Prime News." "We would have never ever expected that he
would have done something like this." Lee, 24, was arrested
Monday on aggravated kidnapping charges, according to Shreveport police.
A second man, Brandon Player, 19, was also arrested Monday in the case
and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. White
said Tuesday that Lee was an "associate" of one of her family's good
friends. Police are searching for any clues into the whereabouts
of Amber, who was last seen Sunday after she went to the neighborhood
pool. However, it started raining shortly after she left her
house, her mother said. "My husband realized it was raining and
he went down to get her and she was gone," Karen White said. Two
witnesses told police they had seen her get into an Oldsmobile Cutlass,
according to Shreveport police Sgt. Bill Goodin. The witnesses
were able to provide authorities with a license plate number, and police
tracked the car to Player. "Through interviews and other
information gathering, that ultimately led us to Henry Lee," Goodin told
"Prime News." Goodin said police don't believe an "abduction"
occurred, but added that investigators aren't ruling anything out as
they search for Amber. Karen White described her daughter as a
good kid who never fails to check in with her parents. "I think
she was coerced to get into a car," White said. "I don't think she did
it on her own. The daughter that I know would not do something like
this."
Player has been released from police
custody on bond. Lee remained in jail Tuesday night.

Law Enforcement Statement:

At approximately 1:37 a.m. central time this morning, the Shreveport
Police Department received a tip through the Shreveport-Caddo Parish
Crime Stoppers that Amber White was at a convenience store in the 8900
block of Mansfield Road trying to get a ride home. Patrol officers were
immediately dispatched but when they arrived just moments later, Amber
was nowhere to be found. Detectives had been notified and, working with
our dispatchers, were able to re-contact the tipster. The caller
reported to investigators that prior to notifying authorities he had
called Amber’s father and she was now with her father. Detectives
contacted Mr. White and he verified that he had picked Amber up there at
the store on Mansfield Road and was taking her home. Investigators
ordered him to stop immediately so they could contact them and Mr. White
complied, pulling into another convenience store at the intersection of
W. 70th Street and Buncombe Road where detectives met them. At that
point our investigators verified that Amber was safe and assessed her
condition to determine if she needed any type of medical aid. Amber had
no visible injuries and she was subsequently taken to the Shreveport
Police Complex with her father where detectives began interviews with
her to determine specific details relative to the events that have
occurred over the past 56 or so hours since she disappeared.

Amber has been with her family members this morning and I think I can
speak for them when I say that their emotions concerning her return are
almost overwhelming, as are ours. I also want to stress that while
Amber is safe and back at home, our investigation at this time is still
very much ongoing. As clearly delineated by Louisiana law relative to
the confidentiality of crime victims who are minors, we are extremely
limited in the extent of what we can tell you regarding the direction
our investigation will take us from here and that is as it should be. We
will not lose sight of the fact that at the heart of this case is a 12
year old little girl, who, no matter where our investigation leads us,
is the true victim and we will treat her with all of the respect due a
child who has been victimized.

This case has weighed heavy on our shoulders since last Sunday night
and it is difficult for me to articulate our sense of relief that Amber
is safe and back where she needs to be. But that didn’t magically happen
and I stand here this morning in awe of the monumental effort the men
and women of the Shreveport Police Department put forth as they worked
to bring Amber home. Our detectives literally worked around the clock
and they are still working to get all of our unanswered questions
answered. Our dispatchers, patrol officers, narcotics agents,
administrators, and support personnel all went above and beyond the call
of duty during the search for Amber. But we could not have done this by
ourselves and I would be remiss if I did not extend a heartfelt thanks
to our media partners, both local and national, that helped us get the
information about Amber out to the public. There is no doubt that your
coverage of this case has produced tips that ultimately played a large
role in bringing what could have been a catastrophic situation to a
positive resolution. We would like to thank all of the citizens out
there who called in those tips and helped us locate this missing little
girl.

I will close on this note…….as I stated earlier, this is very much
still an active, ongoing investigation and if you helped keep Amber from
her parents in any way, shape, form or fashion over the past two and ½
days, we are coming after you and we are going to put you in jail. If
you harmed Amber in any way, shape, form or fashion over the past two
and ½ days, we are coming after you and we will put you behind bars
where you belong.

We are still asking anyone who has any information regarding this
case to contact Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.

The mother of a missing 12-year-old Louisiana girl who was found safe
Wednesday said hearing the news was "like no other phone call I've gotten before in my life."
A 25-year-old acquaintance of the girl's family is now charged with rape
,
Shreveport police said.
A tipster contacted authorities around 1:30 a.m. and told police the girl
was at a convenience store looking for a ride home, police said. The
girl was found and returned to her family. "It was the greatest
feeling in the world," her mother said of embracing her for the first
time Wednesday. "I never ever wanted to let her go."
The girl's mother told HLN's "Prime News" Wednesday night that
her daughter was recovering from her ordeal. "She's
kind of up and down," the mother said. "She doesn't want to be touched,
she doesn't want to talk about the ordeal. It was horrific what
happened to my child." Two men were arrested earlier this week in connection
with the girl's disappearance Sunday from a neighborhood swimming pool. On
Tuesday, the girl's mother said one of the two men spent time at their
home, playing video games and hanging out with their family. Henry
Lee was "always very polite, very nice. We thought he was a very decent
person," the mother told HLN. "We would have never ever expected that
he would have done something like this." The mother said Tuesday that Lee was an
"associate" of one of her family's good friends. Lee
was arrested Monday on an aggravated kidnapping charge, according to
Shreveport police. On Wednesday, the charge was revised to aggravated
rape. A second man, Brandon Player, 19, was also arrested in the
case and is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
The girl was last seen Sunday after she went to the pool.
It started raining shortly after she left her house, her mother said.
"My husband realized it was raining, and he went down to get her and she was gone," she said. Two
witnesses told police they had seen her get into an Oldsmobile Cutlass,
Shreveport police Sgt. Bill Goodin said. The witnesses gave authorities
a license plate number, and police tracked the car to Player. "Through interviews and
other information gathering, that ultimately led us to Henry Lee," Goodin told "Prime News." Many
questions remain in the case, including what happened to the girl
during the two-and-a-half days after Lee and Player were arrested. It is
unclear where she was and who she may have been with during that time.
"Anyone who kept her from coming home or hid her, we're working to put them in jail," Goodin said.

The home life of Amber White, the 12-year-old girl who disappeared for
two days last week, was unstable with too little parental supervision,
said authorities who investigated her disappearance and sought to have
her placed in a foster home.Reports indicate that law enforcement and child-welfare workers, who are continuing
to investigate why Amber disappeared earlier this month, believe she was
in an unsafe environment at home due to the actions of adults around
her:
-- The man accused of having sex with Amber while she was
missing was a friend of Amber's father and spent a lot of time with the
father and child. They spent time at their respective homes and around
the pool at the mobile home park where the Whites live, authorities
believe.
-- A relative of one of the Whites had expressed concerns about that man hanging around Amber.
-- Child welfare workers have "strong suspicions" of drug abuse by people who associated with Amber.
-- Witnesses told Shreveport police that Amber willingly got into a car the day she disappeared and had done that before.

In a Caddo Juvenile Court hearing on Wednesday, a judge ordered Amber and her 9-year-old sister to remain in a foster home. Amber's parents, James and Karen, declined comment today on the allegations, citing a gag order from the judge.
Amber disappeared the weekend before last. Two and a half days later, she
was dropped off at a Shreveport convenience store. Investigators have
not said how many places they believe Amber stayed while she was gone.
Two people have been arrested in the case: Henry Elliott Lee is jailed
on child-rape charges. Police have accused him of having sexual
relations with the girl and letting her stay with him knowing police
were conducting an extensive search for the missing girl. Brandon
Player, 19, is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a
juvenile. Police said Amber got in the car with him. Shreveport
police, the district attorney's office and state-child welfare workers
are conducting investigations. The case could go before the Caddo Parish
grand jury later this summer.

Amber White, the 12-year-old girl who was missing for three days this past summer, willingly got in a car in her neighborhood and was not held against her will, Caddo Parish authorities said after the grand jury indicted a local man on charges of having sex with a child. The little girl disappeared from her mobile-home neighborhood in southwest Shreveport in July while walking to the neighborhood swimming pool. She surfaced unharmed after two men let her out at a Shreveport convenience store. Authorities said their investigation concluded that Amber was not abducted and willingly got in the car with an adult. She was not held against her will, authorities concluded. She stayed in at least two houses during that time, authorities said. The men she was with eventually found out that Shreveport police were conducting an extensive search for the child, authorities said -- although they could not pinpoint exactly when the men knew. The grand jury on Thursday indicted Henry Lee, 26, of Shreveport for aggravated rape. Sex with a 12-year-old is considered rape under Louisiana law, regardless of whether the child consented. Authorities said Lee has not cooperated with their investigation. The other man arrested in the case, 19-year-old Brandon Player, was initially charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. He will not be prosecuted in return for his testimony, Caddo Assistant District Attorney Hugo Holland said. There was no indication Amber's parents knew where she was, authorities said. They described her mother as particularly distraught over the disappearance. Amber was removed from her family home by state child-welfare workers for what they considered inadequate supervision, her father said after she was placed in foster care. She remains in state custody. Prosecutors alleged Lee did not contact authorities or the parents while Amber was staying at his house. Lee faces life in prison if convicted as charged of aggravated rape. He is jailed under $300,000 bond and is awaiting arraignment in Caddo District Court.

Investigators make big break in Shreveport missing child case

March 16th 2011

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) – After months of
investigating the disappearance of a 12-year old Shreveport girl in July
2010, the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office thought they hit a
dead end. However, on Monday a witness came forward and gave
information that breathed new life into the case.
It's case that has puzzled investigators from
the beginning. A 12-year-old- Shreveport girl disappeared from the pool
near her home. Police made 2 arrests before they found the girl. They
charged Brandon player with contributing to the delinquency of a minor,
and Henry Lee with aggravated rape.
Finally, after days of searching, the girl's
dad got a phone call to pick her up in a parking lot. After she returned
home her family said she had been drugged, and police confirmed the
young girl had been raped.
At the time Shreveport Police Chief Willie
Shaw said there would be more arrests. Eight months later, still no
additional arrests have come.
Assistant District Attorney Hugo Holland
told KSLA News 12 investigators hit a dead end at the end of last year.
On Monday,a witness finally came forward.
"What the new witness did is confirm some
things that we suspected and gave us additional investigative leads that
we need to go track down. That's what we're doing right now," said
Holland.
He thinks the new information is exactly what they'll need to make those additional arrests.
"There are probably 3 or 4 more folks that we're kind of interested in," said Holland.
Holland would not say who those people were, but did say it's important that the girl is no longer in her parents custody.
"The child is currently safe because she is not with her parents," said Holland.
Only a few days after she was found in
July, CPS took the girl out of the home. Right now, she is staying with
relatives, under a state order.

Holland doesn't know how much longer the investigation will take, but he's confident they are back on the right track. http://www.ksla.com/Global/story.asp?S=14258387

Poster's Note: Here we go again. The continuing revolving door syndrome of Amber White continues. She went missing and has been found again. This girl is screaming for help. Short of putting a GPS tracking chip in her neck get her into a residential treatment program until we can determine wth is up.

We have an update on a missing 13 year old we first told you about last Thursday. Shreveport, Louisiana police say the girl has been located and is safe.

Police say Amber White ran away from her family's Springfield home last month. They say they found teen Saturday in Shreveport and took her into protective custody. Investigators arrested 25 year old Mim McCoy who has been charged her with one count of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
