SEQUOYAH CARPENTER - 15 yo - Rockwell/ Rowan/ Charlotte NC

Rowan County authorities said Wednesday they are still searching
for a 15-year-old girl reported missing earlier this month.

Authorities said they have received several leads about the case, but have not yet located Sequoyah Carpenter.

The East Rowan High school student hasn’t been heard from since
the morning of June 6 when she left the Nazareth Children’s Home in
Rockwell. She did not return to the home after school, according to the
Sheriff’s Office.

Sequoyah had been staying at the children’s home for a short
time, but had previously threatened to run away from the children’s
home, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities said the teen was last seen wearing a light blue
American Eagle hoodie, a black jacket with fur, jeans and sandals. She
was carrying a black backpack, but authorities said the teen had no
identification or money and wasn’t known to a cell phone.

The sheriff’s office said Sequoyah has a grandmother who lives in
Rowan, but the woman hasn’t heard from the teen. An aunt may live in
Lincoln County.

Rowan County authorities say a 15-year-old girl reported missing
