ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Police in St. Petersburg are asking for the public's help in finding a pregnant teenager who was last seen a week ago.

Seventeen-year-old Morgan Keyanna Martin is four months pregnant. Police say she left home shortly after receiving a phone call about 12:30 a.m. on July 25. She left her purse, money and identification at home.

Authorities say she may have gotten into a white vehicle. Her family says no one has heard from her since she left home.

Martin is 5-foot-2 and weighs about 175 pounds. Authorities say she has dark hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Martin is urged to call the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Pregnant St. Petersburg teen's disappearance called ominous

ST. PETERSBURG — The twin bed's polka-dotted comforter is tossed
haphazardly over rainbow-striped sheets. The walls are fuchsia, a
child's stuffed Eeyore dolls look every which way.
This is where Leah Martin comes to talk to her daughter.
"Come
on, Morgan, this has got to be the day," she says. "Today, you're going
to come home. You've got to. I don't know if I can do this anymore."
Morgan Keyanna Martin, 17, has been missing for 10 days.
The
pregnant teen vanished from her St. Petersburg home without anything
but a cellphone. Police have declared her disappearance disconcerting
and continue to investigate. So far, they haven't found much.
"We
don't have any evidence of an abduction, no evidence of a homicide or an
assault," said St. Petersburg police spokesman Mike Puetz. "We just
have a set of circumstances that strike a very ominous tone."
So every day, Leah Martin talks to the emptiness.
"Even
if she's dead, if it's come to that point, I just want to find her,"
said Martin, 43. "Dead or alive, I just want her home."
Morgan was last seen sitting in a brown armchair just inside the family's front door at 2808 17th Ave. S.
It was late, about 12:20 a.m. on July 25, and she was on her cellphone. As usual.Morgan told her mother and older sister she was going
outside to talk to someone. Then she walked out the front door wearing
fuzzy pink slippers, pajama pants and a white tank top.
She never returned.
In the morning, friends and family began to call, text, try to reach her on Facebook. No one answered.
Martin
said her phone bill shows that Morgan received more than 1,000 calls
from concerned family and friends the first day she was gone.
"There's
obviously some concern that this just doesn't seem right," Puetz said.
"Scenarios like this usually don't have a positive outcome."
A
witness told investigators he saw a white car parked in the home's
driveway that night, but it is unknown whether Martin ever approached or
got into that vehicle, Puetz said.
No one has heard from the teen since she walked out her front door. This, Martin said, is nothing like her daughter.
"I
hear from her three, four, five times a day when I'm at work; she calls
me all the time," Martin said. "She's not a runaway. I know my
daughter. She won't go anywhere without letting somebody know."
She
did run away from home once when she was 15. She went to a friend's
house and called her sister, Sierra Cahill. Police picked her up within a
day.
"She told me where she was, then said, 'Don't tell Mom,' "
said Cahill, 20. "That's how she was. She could never just disappear."
Detectives
with the Police Department's Crimes Against Children division have not
found evidence of foul play, Puetz said. After interviewing friends,
family and the father of Morgan's unborn daughter, investigators
consulted with homicide detectives. But it's still a missing-person
case, Puetz said.
Morgan lives with her sister, their mother and a friend of the family, Roneisha Wynn, 19.
The
three have spent the past week swapping Morgan stories and trying to
keep one another's spirits raised. They've also taken turns blaming
themselves, each saying they should have gone after her the night she
vanished.
Martin wishes she could have taught her daughter to trust less.
"I
used to tell her all the time, you have got to quit thinking the best
in everybody or we're going to find you dead in a ditch one day," Martin
said.
Morgan is 5 feet 2, 175 pounds, and is of mixed race but
appears Hispanic, police said. She has black hair, brown eyes and was
last seen wearing a white tank top, a pink jacket with fur around the
hood, gray bottoms and fuzzy pink slippers.

A pregnant Florida teenager has disappeared after telling her mother
she was stepping outside to tell the father of her unborn baby that an
ultrasound indicated the baby was a girl.

Morgan Martin, 17, disappeared July 25 in St. Petersburg, Fla.
Morgan’s mother said the baby’s father, whom Morgan met on Facebook, is
26 and from Kansas City. Police and Morgan’s mother declined to name the
man.

The teenager was last seen about 12:30 a.m., her mother Leah Martin told ABCNews.com.

Mrs. Martin said she had warned her daughter against seeing the man because he was not on good terms with Morgan.

“He said he was going to come over and talk to her and so she told
me, ‘Mom, I’m just going to go talk to him,” Leah Martin said. “I told
her, ‘Morgan, you don’t want anything to do with him … You’re a kid. If
he gets caught with you, he’s going to jail.’”

The mother said Morgan’s sister, Sierra Cahill, 20, was the last to
see Morgan step outside. When Leah Martin woke for work at 5 a.m., she
noticed her daughter had left the lights, television and air
conditioning on. She figured Morgan was probably still outside talking
with the baby’s father, but didn’t see any cars.

A few phone calls from Cahill followed saying Morgan was not
returning calls and was not on Facebook, something Leah Martin said was
very rare for the teen.

Police say they have no indication Morgan Martin left of her own
accord. The fact that she didn’t take anything with her and was dressed
for bed “has caused us to believe this is not a normal set of
circumstances,” St. Petersburg police spokesman Mike Puetz said Friday.

“There’s a difference between a runaway situation and something like
this, where you have a set of circumstances suggesting that she has just
stopped communicating with all her friends,” Puetz said.

Morgan has run away from home before, Puez said, but always returned soon after.
Puetz said the baby’s father and Morgan were communicating up to her disappearance.

Police are not certain a crime has taken place and have not named any suspects.

Morgan is 5-feet-2 and weighs around 170 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

This is very unsettling and not likely we will see a good outcome. Truly hope that I am wrong.

why didnt someone care enough to check on her to make sure she was inside? even if it was just to find out what the father thought about the sonogram results?

ST. PETERSBURG — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement issued a
statewide alert Monday indicating there is reason to believe a missing
17-year-old's life may be in danger.
Morgan Keyanna Martin, who is four months pregnant, has been missing for nearly two weeks.
She
was last seen walking out the front door of her home at 2808 17th Ave. S
to meet someone to whom she had been speaking on her cellphone, family
members said.
Martin, who is 5 feet 2, 175 pounds and of mixed
race, has black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a white tank top, a
pink jacket with fur around the hood, gray bottoms and fuzzy pink
slippers the night of her disappearance.
St. Petersburg Police officials have called the case alarming, noting Martin had only a cellphone when she vanished.
"Given
all the property she left behind, she didn't appear to be in a position
to just leave on her own," said police spokesman Mike Puetz. "That's
not typical of a person who runs away from home."

A pregnant 17-year-old disappeared after going to talk to the unborn baby’s 26-year-old father who she met on Facebook.

Morgan Keyanna Martin, of St. Petersburg, Fla., stepped outside her
house to give the father — who has not been identified beyond the fact
that he is from Kansas City — the results of an ultrasound. The scan had
revealed she was expecting a girl.

Martin's sister, Sierra Cahill, 20, saw her exit the house around 12:30
a.m. No one has seen her since she stepped outside in her white tank
top, a pink jacket, gray pants and pink slippers.

When her mother, Leah Martin, 43, woke at 5 a.m. to go to work, she
noticed that the lights, television and air conditioning were all still
on.

She then began the search for her daughter. Sierra told the mother that
Morgan wasn’t picking up her phone and wasn’t responding to Facebook
messages, reports ABC.

A phone bill shows that Morgan's cell phone received more than 1,000
calls the day she disappeared from family and friends trying to find
her.

The police have few clues to what’s behind Morgan’s disappearance, spokesman Mike Puetz said.

"We don't have any evidence of an abduction, no evidence of a homicide
or an assault," Puetz said. "We just have a set of circumstances that
strike a very ominous tone."

Authorities do not think Morgan ran away from home.

"There's a difference between a runaway situation and something like this," said Puetz.

She left her purse, money and identification at her house, reports WTSP.



Morgan did run away when she was 15, but she went to a friend's house and informed her sister of her whereabouts, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

Her mother said that Morgan normally called her as much as four or five times a day.

"She's not a runaway. I know my daughter," said Leah Martin said. "She won't go anywhere without letting somebody know."

Leah reportedly warned her daughter about spending time with the baby's father.

"I told her, 'Morgan, you don't want anything to do with him … You're a
kid. If he gets caught with you, he's going to jail,'" she said.

Police have one slim clue: Morgan may have gotten into a white vehicle, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

Tough holiday season for missing pregnant teen's family

ST. PETERSBURG, Florida -- It's been nearly five months since pregnant teenager Morgan Martin went missing. For her family, this will most likely be a very tough holiday season.

"There's no decorations. There's nothing. I don't really have the spirit right now," said Morgan's mother, Leah Martin.

Leah has no Christmas tree up. Christmas lights are replaced by light from candles, burning as a memorial for Morgan. Every day, Leah said it gets a little harder. "It's not necessarily losing hope. It's just, I'm just tired. And I think everybody's just getting tired," she said. "I just want something done. And it isn't fair."

St. Petersburg police say Morgan disappeared on July 25th when she walked out of her home along the 2800 block of 17th Avenue South wearing pajamas. She was four months pregnant at the time.

According to authorities, they've worked a lot of leads, but so far they don't know where Morgan is and don't have any suspects.

"There are surely people in the community who know what's happened to her. And we can make a fresh plea today for those people to come forward and talk to us and tell us what they know," said Bill Proffitt with the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Apart from missing the holidays, Morgan also just missed her birthday. She turned 18.

Leah just wants to know what happened, no matter what. "I don't think it's the best. But I just think somebody thought that they had the right to take my daughter," she said.

And she's hoping for answers soon. This mother doesn't want to spend Christmas after Christmas in the dark.

ST. PETERSBURG — Leah Martin thought she might be a grandmother by now.

Her youngest, Morgan, came to her months ago and said she was pregnant. Martin wasn't thrilled, but told the 17-year-old the family would figure it out.

But Morgan went missing July 25 and hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Police say the case is "active," but caution that the likelihood the teen encountered foul play is high. A $1,000 reward for information remains unclaimed. Her mother hopes to start a second fund to supplement that money this week.

Morgan's 18th birthday was Dec. 1. Her due date is Friday.

Before she disappeared, she told her mother she planned to name her baby, a girl, Ja'Leah. It would be Martin's first grandchild.

"I still have hope," Martin, 44, said. "It's not a lot, but I do. … I really just hope she's safe."

Morgan was last seen leaving her family's home, 2808 17th Ave. S. She was on her cellphone and told her family she was meeting someone outside.

She never came back.

Police have interviewed friends, family and the father of the teen's unborn baby. No suspects have been named.

The fact that Morgan, known for calling her mother several times a day, has not had any communication with anyone in her life is not a good sign, police said.

"The circumstances of this are very ominous and would tend to support the conjecture that she may have met with some foul play," said police spokesman Mike Puetz. "But we haven't found any crime scene. We haven't found a body."

Martin said she knows investigators are working hard. She said they've told her they still get tips.

Still, she said, it's hard to cope.

Last month, family and friends gathered at her home, ate cake and wrote messages on 18 star-shaped balloons released into the sky. The family also has started a Facebook page, "Hope for Morgan Martin."

A few weeks ago, Martin discovered an old card her daughter gave her. "It's the little things that are worse than the big things," Martin said. "It can take my whole day away. … You kind of feel like you're lost."
