Police Search for Missing Newark Girl
Iynasha Williams, 12, last seen Sunday at 9:45 p.m. at her South Orange Avenue apartment

The search is on for a missing 12-year-old girl with bipolar disorder, last seen in Newark's West Ward, according to reports.

Iynasha Williams, who ran away Sunday night from her home in Newark, has the mental capacity of a 3-year-old, NJ.com reported.

She was last seen at around 9:45 p.m. at her home on South Orange Avenue wearing a yellow pajama top, pajama bottoms with writing on the legs and black high-top sneakers. She reportedly lives at Harmony House with her mother on South Orange and Littleton Avenues, a transitional housing program for the homeless.

Her hair was braided and is blonde in the front and in the back.

Anybody with any information is urged to call the police department's Special Victims Unit at 973-733-7373.

The missing child comes just one day after 14-year-old Brittany Michelle Navarro, who went missing in Newark's Branch Brook Park in Newark last Thursday, was found safe by a resident on Court Street.

Police are searching for a mentally disabled 12-year-old girl who
ran away Sunday night from a Newark apartment where she was staying with
her mother, police said.


Iy-Nasha Williams has bi-polar disorder, a learning disability and is
on a third-grade educational level, her mother La-Tisha Williams said.


Iy-Nasha was last seen by her mother about 9:45 p.m. Sunday in the
apartment on South Orange Avenue in the West Ward wearing a yellow
pajama top, a pajama bottom with writing on the legs and black high top
sneakers, police said.


Her braided hair is blond in the front and black in the back. She is about five foot five inches and 140 pounds, police said.


Her mother believes she slipped out a screen window Sunday night, and called police shortly after.


"My head hurts, I just can't breathe," Williams said. "I can't let another night go past and my baby is not found."


The pair had spent one night at the Harmony House when her daughter
disappeared, and had recently moved back to Newark from out of state.
Williams was at South Orange and Littleton Avenues at the Harmony
House, a program run by the New Community Corporation that helps people
transition from homelessness to permanent housing.


A New Community Corporation spokeswoman declined to comment and directed all questions to police.
