Interlachen man convicted, sentenced to life in molestation case

A 27-year-old Interlachen man was convicted and then sentenced
Wednesday to life in prison for molesting an 11-year-old girl in 2011.

Life in prison was the mandatory term for Steven Ray Baker after a
Putnam County jury spent about a half hour to find him guilty of sexual
battery on a child younger than 12.

The girl testified that she had been watching a movie with her family
in December 2011 when she fell asleep in a recliner and later woke up
to Baker abusing her, according to the State Attorney’s Office for the
state’s 7th Judicial Circuit.
