Child rape suspect from Arlington commits suicide in Johnson County Jail cell

The Texas Rangers are investigating the apparent suicide of a sexual assault suspect in his Johnson County Jail cell.
Jay Thomas Morgan, 50, of Arlington was found dead Monday. He had been locked up since July 31, accused of repeatedly molesting two children and recording the acts with a second suspect.
At the time, sheriff’s Lt. Tim Jones told WFAA-TV that the crimes Morgan was accused of committing were shocking.
“We have investigators with 25 to 35 years of experience, and it’s probably the worst one any of them has ever seen,” Jones said. “I can tell you let your imagination go as deep as you could think and it would be 100 million times worse than you ever thought of.”
Investigators were tipped off to Morgan after finding child pornography on a computer at the Johnson County home of 40-year-old Rosalyn Burdett. She remains in the jail.
Two children, a 7-year-old boy and 9-year-old girl, were taken into protective custody last month.
