Missing Harrisonburg Teen

Below, is a release on a missing teen from Harrisonburg Police.




The Harrisonburg Police Department is asking for assistance in locating 17-year-old Courtney Lynn Leffel.

Leffel is described as a white female, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 140 pounds, and has blonde hair and green eyes.

Leffel was last seen on Saturday, September 21, at approximately 9:15 p.m. at her residence. On the morning of September 22, Leffel’s family discovered Leffel and her car missing from their residence. Leffel has had no contact with family or friends since this time.

Leffel’s car is described as a lime green 2000 Volkswagen Beetle, with a Virginia license plate of WRD-6122.

UPDATE: Missing City Teen Found In Bridgewater

HARRISONBURG — The search for a city girl missing since Saturday ended this evening when she was found in Bridgewater, according to the Harrisonburg Police Department.

Courtney Lynn Leffel, 17, was located around 7 p.m. without incident with assistance from the Bridgewater Police Department, according to a HPD press release.

Police believe no criminal activity was involved in this incident.

Leffel was reported missing to the HPD Sunday morning. Her family told police they last saw her at their Franklin Street home shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday, Lt. Chris Rush said Wednesday.

The next morning, the teen and her car were missing, her family told police.
