Florida granny stabbed grandson, 7, to death because she was 'fed-up': cops 

Martha White, 63, allegedly interrupted Mason Rhinehart and his older brother as they played video games at her Killearn Lakes Plantation home to say she had a 'surprise,' before bringing to the boy to the bathroom and knifing him multiple times.

A Florida granny stabbed her 7-year-old grandson to death because she was "fed-up," police said.

Martha White, 63, allegedly knifed little Mason Rhinehart in the chest at her Killearn Lakes Plantation home as she babysat him and his 8-year-old brother.

Her grandchildren were reportedly playing video games on Tuesday morning when she interrupted them to say she had a "surprise."
Inviting Mason into the bathroom, she is said to have locked the door - before stabbing the Killearn Lakes Elementary School second grader multiple times.

"I don't want to die, please don't kill me," the youngster's older brother heard him screaming out in terror.

Mason's sibling, who has not been named, reportedly tried to break into the restroom to help - but failed, and so called his father and hid.

The uninjured boy later told cops that he saw his grandmother - who shouted out that she "had a surprise for him too" - leave the property with a bottle of wine.

Paramedics arrived and found Mason lying on the bathroom floor with multiple stab wounds to his chest.

Rushed to hospital, he was tragically declared dead soon after.

White was later found, covered in blood, in her car at the dead end of a nearby drive. She was allegedly holding the booze and a Xanax.

Leon County Sheriff's Office spokesman Lt. James McQuaig told the Tallahassee Democrat that it was "too early" to determine a motive for the slaying.

"We are not clear on the motive at this point in time. That's one of the many things that the investigators are continuing to dig into," he said.

White, who is cited in court documents as telling deputies she was "fed-up," was charged with first-degree murder Wednesday.
She is currently being held at Leon County Jail.

UPDATE: Grandmother Accused of Stabbing Grandson

A grandmother accused of killing her grandson will soon undergo back to back psychological evaluations.

The judge issued that order late Friday after a psychologist described Martha White as "delusional and psychotic."

White was arrested August 5th soon after deputies found her grandson stabbed to death in the family's Killearn Lakes home.

Mason Rhinehart was six years old.

White's attorney asked the judge to order a competency review after quoting a psychologist as saying "White is delusional, psychotic and incompetent and needs treatment at the state hospital."

The judge ordered two psychological evaluations within the next 15 days.

The order signed by Circuit Judge Frank Sheffield says a competency hearing will be scheduled if the state and defense experts disagree
