Poster's Note: There are conflicting reports on this story as to the date of abduction. I believe this happened this past Wednesday July 1st. Some reports say it happened on June 1st. It wouldn't take a month for LE to ask for Public information and assistance, therefore I am fairly confident this happened this week.
The Tucson Police Department Missing Persons Unit is seeking the public's assistance in locating 1 year-old, Diamond Kodalen.
On June 1, 2009 at about 8:00 p.m. 17-year-old Manuela Martinez took her
1-year-old daughter, Diamond Kodalen, from her foster home on the
eastside of Tucson.
Manuela and Diamond were last seen in the area of
E 22nd St/S Prudence Rd. Diamond is considered to be a
missing and endangered juvenile. Manuela is a light complected Hispanic
female/5'0/150 pounds/light brown shoulder length hair/and a butterfly
tattoo on her right shoulder. She was last seen wearing a brown tank
top with blue basketball shorts. Diamond is a petite 1 year old. She
is a light complected Hispanic female with 2" straight dark brown hair.
Anyone with any information is asked to call 911. Anyone with information regarding Diamond's whereabouts is urged to call 911 or 88-Crime.

taken from an East Side foster home Wednesday by her 17-year-old mother.
Manuela Martinez was last seen with her daughter, Diamond Kodalen,
on Wednesday evening near East 22nd Street and South Prudence Road,
said Sgt. Diana Lopez, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.
Detectives also received information that Martinez was seen on
West Miracle Mile near Interstate 10 without her child, said Officer
Linda Galindo, another police spokeswoman.
Diamond is considered to be a missing and endangered child, Lopez said.
Martinez, who lived with her daughter at the foster home, is
described as 5 feet tall and weighing 150 pounds with light brown
shoulder-length hair and a butterfly tattoo on her right shoulder. She
was last seen wearing a brown tank top with blue basketball shorts,
Lopez said.
Diamond has 2-inch-long dark-brown hair.

Missing Tucson baby found

TUCSON, Ariz. - Tucson police say a baby reported missing
after being taken from a foster home by her teenage mother has been
located and is safe.
Hours after authorities appealed to the public for help, Tucson
police say 17-year-old Manuela Martinez turned the little girl over
to a family member Saturday morning.
They say one-year-old Diamond Kodalen disappeared Wednesday
evening from the foster home in Tucson.
Police considered the baby missing and endangered.
They say Martinez also lived at the foster home.
It's not immediately known if Martinez will face any charges.
