! MISSING AGAIN ! KRISTY RODGERS - 13 yo - Meridian MS

Local and regional authorities have been alerted to be on the
lookout for a Meridian teen who has been missing since Thursday
morning.

According to Meridian Police Department Capt. James
Sharpe, juvenile detectives with the MPD are currently trying to locate
13-year-old Kristy Rodgers who was last seen at her home located at 214
30th Avenue. Sharpe said reports state Rodgers was wearing khaki pants,
a pink blouse, red shoes with a bow, and a black hooded jacket with
gold crown designs on it.

Rodgers is described as standing
about 4-feet tall and weighing about 90 pounds. She has hazel eyes and
long black hair commonly worn down her back or in a ponytail.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of Rodgers they are urged to call 911 or

(601) 485-1862.

It is unusual that a person reported missing is found so close to their home, officials said.

But Sunday Meridian Police Department authorities located a 13-year old
girl who had been missing since Thursday morning. The teen, Kristy
Rodgers of 214 30th Avenue in Meridian was safely returned to her home
after MPD Juvenile Division detectives received a tip she was staying
in a home in the 200 block of 30th Avenue — just a few houses down from
where she lived. No reason for Rodgers' absence was given by
authorities.

"She is home and in the custody and safety of her
parents," said MPD Investigative Division Commander Capt. James Sharpe
Monday. "This happy ending was due in large part to the media coverage
and the concern of the general public."

Sharpe said once
Rodgers' description and other information was released authorities
began receiving information concerning her whereabouts.

is 4'11" tall and weighs approximately 100 pounds. She has brown hair,
commonly worn down her back or in a ponytail. She has hazel eyes.

Rodgers was last seen at her residence in the 200 block of 30th Avenue, prior to 10 p.m. Dec. 11.
At the time, she was wearing faded blue jeans, a light green and white
polo-style shirt with a white collar, and red slip-on shoes with red bows on top.

Juvenile Detectives with the Meridian Police Department Criminal
Investigation Division are currently seeking information on the
whereabouts of a 14 year old black female Kristy Rodgers.

Rodgers is described as being a Bi-Racial female about 4 foot, 11
inches tall and weighing approximately 100 pounds. She has brown hair
commonly worn down her back or in a ponytail. She also has hazel eyes.

She was last seen at her residence in the 200 block of 30th Avenue,
Meridian, where she is believed to have run away between 10 p.m. on
Dec. 11, and 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 12.

Rodgers was last seen
wearing faded blue jeans, a light green and white polo style shirt with
a white collar, and red slip on shoes with red bows on top.

Meridian police say a Meridian teenager has run away for at least the third time in the past six months.
The MPD also issued reports on 14-year-old Kristy Rodgers in August and December of 2009.
Rodgers is 5'1" and weigh s approximately 115 pounds. She has brown hair,
usually worn down her back or in ponytails. She has hazel eyes.
Rodgers was last seen at her residence in the 200 block of 30th Avenue, where
she is believed to have run away between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. on
Feb. 14, 2010.
Rodgers was last known to be wearing black pants with flowers around the
bottom, a pink hooded sweatshirt , pink and white tennis shoes, and a
small black backpack. Rodgers has possibly been seen in the 48th Avenue
area since then.

Missing teenager, Kristy Rodgers, 14, was
located by Lauderdale County sheriff's deputies Wednesday at 2 p.m.,
according to the Meridian Police Department.
MPD says officers received a tip
that Rodgers was hanging out at a convenience store off Valley Road.


Rodgers was taken into custody and transported to the Lauderdale County
Juvenile Center to await court proceedings in relation to this incident.

This was at least the third time
in the past six months that Rodgers had been reported missing from her
