Thirteen-year-old Judi Juarez vanished from her family’s Macon County
home this morning, prompting a statewide Endangered Child Alert.


Judi is believed to be in the
company of 22-year-old Jose Martin Cano, either in Macon County or
nearby Monroe County, Ky.

The Macon County Sheriff’s Office is asking
the public to be on the lookout for Cano’s vehicle, a small purple
four-door.According
to sheriff’s investigators, Cano has been in contact with the Juarez
family and told them Judi is with him. He would not, however, allow
anyone to speak with the teen. Her family discovered she was missing
from their home this morning.Judi
has black hair and brown eyes. She is 4 feet 6 inches tall and weighs
100 pounds. Cano is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 7 inches tall,

The State of Alabama is activitating an Amber Alert at the request of
the State of Tennessee, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Judi
Juarez, a Guatemalan female, was last seen at her home in Lafayette,
Tennessee on Sunday, 9/20/2009. Juarez was discovered missing from her
home by family members when they awoke Monday, 9/21/2009. Authorities
believe Juarez was taken from her home by Jose Martin Cano, a Hispanic
male, and are traveling in a purple/plum 1996 Ford Escort hatchback
with Tennessee license plate 485TJL. This vehicle is not registered to
Cano. Information received indicated Juarez and Cano could possibly be
in the Huntsville, Alabama area. Anyone with information regarding
