JORDAN IACOVETTA - 8 yo (2007) - Tucson AZ

Jennifer Jansma, the Glendale mother convicted of giving her 8-year-old
son a fatal drug overdose, cut a plea deal in a Tucson court and was
sentenced Monday.
She pleaded guilty to murder and child abuse charges. Monday, she
was sentenced to 25 years in jail, but will get credit for time served. Jansma's
son Jordan Iacovetta was found in a Tucson hotel in November of 2007.
He had overdosed on adult sleeping pills, Benadryl and pain medication. Jansma admitted she had placed four Fentanyl patches on her son's back -- Fentanyl is a pain drug more powerful than morphine. Jordan's
father, Woody Drummond, says the death could've been prevented if Child
Protective Services had done their job right. Drummond is naming them
in a lawsuit, claiming CPS was negligent and failed to keep his son safe. Drummond alleges that CPS knew that Jansma had talked about killing her son.
