"John Doe" - 5 months - Yavapai County AZ

Judge
Thomas Lindberg of the Yavapai County Superior Court sentenced a
Prescott Valley man to 18 years in prison Monday after a baby left in
his care bled from his nose and mouth and had skull fractures.
A
jury found Vaughn Miles Denz, 24, guilty of child abuse and aggravated
assault on Sept. 19. Lindberg also sentenced Denz to 2.5 years in
prison for an aggravated DUI.
The mother of the 5-month-old
baby boy returned home this past Feb. 22 to find her son, who had been
with Denz all night, bleeding from the nose and mouth. The mother and
Denz took the baby to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center East Campus
where a radiologist discovered skull fractures. An ambulance
immediately took the child and his mother to Phoenix Children's
Hospital.
