RIDLEY TOWNSHIP — Police are searching for an 18-year-old mentally retarded man who has been missing since Tuesday.

Stephon
Burgess, of the 200 block of Crum Creek Drive in the Woodlyn section of
the township, was last seen at 3 p.m. Tuesday after leaving his home on
foot. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall, 190 pounds with brown eyes and black
hair.

Police say he is incapable of taking care of himself and
does not speak clearly enough to be understood. He likes buses and
trains and has been known to travel to Philadelphia on public
transportation when he has gone missing in the past.

Ridley
Township detectives have contacted numerous hospitals in Philadelphia
and Delaware County with no results, said Ridley Township Police Lt.
Scott Willoughby. Burgess was listed as a missing and endangered person
on the National Crime Information Center.

Anyone who has located him is asked to contact 911 or the Ridley Township Detective Division at 610-532-4002.

Eighteen-year-old Stephon Burgess, who had been missing from his Ridley
Township home since Jan. 19, was found Monday at Einstein Medical
Center psychiatric ward in Philadelphia, according to township police.

"He’s
safe and sound," said Ridley Township Police Lt. Scott Willoughby who
noted a Philadelphia police officer contacted township police about
Burgess around noon today.

The developmentally disabled young
man was taken by Philadelphia police to Germantown Hospital on Jan. 20
then later transferred to Einstein Medical Center. Willoughby said his
mother planned to pick him up today.
