ASHLEY and GRIFFIN KETTNER - Nelsonville WI
The Central Wisconsin charged with murdering his estranged girlfriend and two of their children says he's guilty.
While shaking and crying, Shane Kettner told the judge he is guilty
of killing Christine Gollon, Ashley Kettner and Griffin Kettner in
their Nelsonville home back in April, 2009. A third child survived.
The three were found inside the home after Gollon's mother wasn't
able to reach her for several days. When investigators got inside the
home, they found it had been doused with large amounts of gasoline.
Kettner faces two counts of life in prison for killing the
children. The charge of murdering Gollon was amended to first degree
reckless homicide which carries a 60 year sentence.
Portage County District Attorney, Tom Eagon says, "It was the type
of plea the defendant was more comfortable pleading to. By allowing him
to plea to the amended charge; which is still an extremely serious
charge, Class B is the second most serious in Wisconsin, we were able
to avoid a trial on the entire matter."
Kettner will be sentenced May 26 at 9:00AM.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

All three were found dead inside their Nelsonville home. A third
child, 6 months, was also found inside the home, but survived. The baby
girl was found, overcome by gasoline fumes.
Investigators say Kettner poured the fuel throughout the house.
