The Orange County Jail is investigating a report that Casey Anthony wrote 258 pages of notes and letters to another woman inmate, officials said Friday.

The information was uncovered through a Florida Department of Law
Enforcement investigation and presented in court by prosecutors
Thursday. If Anthony did send the notes, she would have violated jail
policy, a spokesman said.

Anthony, 24, who is charged with first-degree murder in the 2008 death
of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, is in a cell by herself for her own
protection and is not allowed to have direct contact with other
inmates. That includes passing notes.

A judge sealed the notes for at least 15 days until the defense has a
chance to examine them. Their contents have not been made public.
