County man has been sentenced to 25 years to life in prison for killing
his then-girlfriend's 1-year-old daughter in 2006. Prosecutors
say 30-year-old Ryan Mickey was sentenced Friday for assault and
voluntary manslaughter in the death of Kerianne Bradley, who was left in
his care while her mother went to work. Prosecutors say
Mickey called his mother to say that the toddler wasn't breathing. The
deputy medical examiner testified at trial that Mickey didn't call
paramedics until an hour after she went into cardiac arrest. Paramedics
found the girl bruised in the face and head and not breathing. She died
the next day at a hospital. An autopsy found Kerianne had
blunt force trauma to her head and chest.
