Hearing set for Tuesday in Anthony civil suit

A pre-trial hearing is set for
Tuesday
afternoon in the civil suit against Casey Anthony.
Zenaida Gonzalez is suing
the
accused child killer for defamation. She says Casey damaged her
reputation
when she told authorities a woman who shares her name
kidnapped
Caylee. Gonzalez was questioned and cleared in the case but
says she
lost her job and was forced to move after the allegations were
made.
She's seeking punitive damages. Keith Mitnik is one of her
attorneys."For
example, if [Casey] happened to be found not
guilty so that she
could write a book and make money, we'll be chasing
her for 20 years
if we win the verdict," said Mitnik. "It's about
accountability for
what you did. It's about retribution for what you
did, and punitive
damages allow you to bring about civil punishment for a

wrong."Casey's civil attorney, Jonathan Kassan, argues that the
case
has no merit."Ms. Anthony has already cleared this woman,"
said
Kassan. "Just because you share a common name with an individual
doesn't
mean you're disparaged. You can only harm an individual that you

have contact with and that you know, and in this case neither
applies."Kassan
has tried repeatedly to have this case dismissed,
but he's been turned
down every time.This case has turned ugly in
the past. During a
deposition, Cindy Anthony, insulted Gonzalez when
she said there was no
way that she could have been Caylee's
nanny."She doesn't have
perfect teeth," said Cindy. "She's not a
ten. I'm sorry, m'am. You're
cute, but you're not a ten."But Casey's
mother also admitted that
she had never met the woman who was
supposedly Caylee's babysitter. If
Gonzalez wins this case, getting
any money from Casey could be
difficult. She's already been declared
indigent in her criminal trial.

there were technical issues with the feeds - i don't think fox ever showed any of the hearing, and wftv only had sound for the last 3-4 minutes. basically, it seems like the trial may be moved because the docket is full and the judge presided over a trial that lasted 3 weeks. i will try to find a link
