The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is preparing to issue an Amber
Alert after a man identified as Rafael Delgado argued with his
girlfriend at a home in Coachella and then took off with her and their
2-month-old child.
Delgado and his girlfriend Nayelly Maldonado, 18, had gotten into an
argument about 9 a.m. today in the 83-400 Block of Agua Blanca Avenue
in Coachella.They were last seen in a Copper Nissan Armada
with the license plate No. 5HKH733. Anyone with info can

An 18-year-old woman and her 2-month-old daughter who were kidnapped
Wednesday morning from a home in Coachella have been found safe, the
Riverside County Sheriff's Department reported.
The Calexico Police Department notified the sheriff's department
later Wednesday that Nayelly Maldonado, 18, and her daughter, Genesis
Delgado, were in police care at the Mexican border.“The suspect remains at large,” Deputy Herlinda
Valenzuela of the sheriff's department said in a case update Wednesday
afternoon.“She
and the baby are doing well, as far as we know,” she said, offering no
other details on where they had been in the intervening hours.The kidnapping had been
reported after Rafael Delgado, 19, carried Nayelly Maldonado, 18,
over his shoulder and put her into his car, deputies said. They say he
also took Genesis in his arms and put her in the car, Valenzuela said.The alleged assault
and abduction happened around 9 a.m. in the 83-400 block of Agua Blanca
Avenue.The
baby's parents do not live together and had allegedly argued before
Delgado took off with Maldonado and Genesis in his Nissan Armada,
Valenzuela said.Maldonado's
13-year-old brother and a 4-year-old sister followed the tussling woman
into the house's front yard, and Delgado is accused of ordering them
into the Nissan and later dropping them off at an uncle's home on Calle
Guitron, according to Valenzuela.They were not hurt during the incident.
