What’s new in the Casey Anthony saga?

First, the civil case: Zenaida Gonzalez’s lawyers want to talk to Robyn Adams, Anthony’s former pen pal in the Orange County Jail, WFTV-Channel 9 reported.

Gonzalez is suing Anthony for defamation for linking her to Caylee Anthony’s disappearance.

WFTV anchor Bob Opsahl noted that Anthony wrote in one letter that “she knows Zenaida Gonzalez, Caylee’s alleged nanny, had nothing to do with her daughter’s disappearance.” Adams, a convicted drug dealer, is in federal prison.

In the Anthony murder case, the state responded today to a defense request for documents. “The defense wants resumes for sheriff’s investigators whom it calls experts, but prosecutors say they are not considered experts under the law,” Opsahl said.

WESH-Channel 2 anchor Martha Sugalski said that on Friday the Anthony defense team is scheduled to depose five people, including a neighbor from whom Anthony borrowed a shovel.

Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.
