KENDALL and KENNI CARR - 8 and 2 yo - Harvey/Chicago IL-MO alerted

The search is on for two children who were abducted Monday morning in Harvey,
authorities said.
An Amber Alert has been issued by Illinois State Police for Kendall Carr, 8, and his
2-year-old sister Kenni Carr, who were abducted at 9:44 a.m. from the
14700 block of Washington Avenue.
The male suspect and two children were last seen in a gray Dodge
minivan with Iowa license plates and are believed to be en route to
Missouri, according to the alert.
Harvey police spokeswoman Sandra Alvarado said the children are with their
39-year-old father, Kent W. Carr. He has relatives in Missouri, Alvarado said.



Kendall Carr is described in the alert as a black male, 4-feet-tall, 80 pounds with black hair.



Kenni Carr is described as a black female, 3-feet-tall, 60 pounds with black hair.
Kent W. Carr is described in the alert as a 39-year-old black man,
6-feet-6, 206 pounds with brown hair. He was wearing a black shirt and blue jean shorts.
Alvarado said police "don't really believe the children might be in
danger" and the abduction stems from a domestic battery
incident that occurred Monday morning between Kent Carr, the biological
father of the children, and the mother. They are not married.
The mother refused medical attention.
The mother told Harvey Police initially that Carr took the children but that she was OK with
it, Alvarado said. She later went to the Harvey
police station Monday evening and said she didn't think Carr was coming
back, the police spokeswoman said.
The mother fell ill at the police station and was taken to Ingalls
Hospital in Harvey, Alvarado said.

Authorities in Des Moines say they have
taken into custody a man wanted in connection with an Amber Alert
issued in Illinois.


Authorities in the Chicago suburb of Harvey on Monday issued an
Amber Alert for 8-year-old Kendall Carr and his 2-year-old sister,
Kenni.


The children were seen being taken away in a gray minivan with
Iowa
license plates. They were recovered in Des Moines on Tuesday.


While authorities in Iowa haven't identified the
man in custody,
police in Harvey say the children were taken by a 39-year-old man
named Kent Carr, a relative of the children.


The man in custody was taken to the Federal Building in Des
Moines, but it's unclear if he will be charged in the incident.
