A Kent County father accused of shaking his infant son is expected to
enter a guilty plea Wednesday.

Brett Walsh is charged with first and second degree child abuse.

Prosecutors say he shook his
three-month-old son Viktor back in October, leaving the baby in critical condition.

News reports say Walsh is expected to accept a plea deal Wednesday.

Reportedly, the baby is in foster care and still needs a feeding tube.

The baby's mother, Suzanne Fox, also faces child abuse charges.

A father who shook and severely brain damaged his 3-month-old baby
pleaded guilty Wednesday to first-degree child abuse.Brett Walsh, 22,

As part of the plea, Kent County prosecutors dropped a charge of
second-degree child abuse and Walsh gave up his parental rights.Assistant Prosecutor Joshua Kuiper said he will ask for a prison
sentence of three to seven years rather than the 15-year maximum.
The child, now 1, likely faces lifelong disabilities and remains in
foster care where he is fed through a tube, according to testimony.
The baby’s mother, Suzanne Fox, is charged with second-degree child
abuse and is free on bond. She sees the baby on supervised visits.
