An Adams County jury has found a
23-year-old man guilty in the head-injury death of his 6-month-old son.
Justin Taylor was convicted of child abuse resulting in death for the
February 2009 death of his son, Julian Adams-Lacas.
Prosecutors said the baby, a special-needs child born with a
bilateral cleft palate, suffered a head injury while under Taylor's
care. Taylor initially blamed the boy's 18-month-old sister but
eventually admitted he had thrown the baby to the ground, prosecutors
said. The baby died three days after suffering his injuries.
Taylor, who was on probation for a separate felony at the time, faces
a minimum of 16 years and a maximum of 48 years in prison. He will be
sentenced Aug. 11.
