ISAIAH MARTINEZ - 2 yo - Garden City (nr Cimmaron and Dodge City) KS

An Amber Alert has been issued in Garden City, Kansas for two-year-old Isaiah Martinez after Garden City Police said he was taken from his mother's car.

Martinez is two feet tall and weighs 30 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing a purple shirt with a motorcycle logo, khaki shorts and brown sandals.



Sgt. Michael Reagle with Garden City Police said Isaiah's mother left Issiah in the car outside the Apple Garden Apartments, 2615 N. Main, when she went inside to get her 10-month-old. When she got back, her car and Issiah were missing.

Police are looking for the vehicle described as a dark blue 1999 Dodge Durango with Kansas plates 133 CLP.

An Amber Alert was issued early Thursday after authorities said a small child was abducted in southwest Kansas.Isaiah Martinez, a 2-year-old boy, was last seen at 12:30 a.m. Thursday in Garden City.Isaiah is described as being 2-feet tall and weighing 30 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.He was last seen in Garden City wearing a purple shirt with a motorcycle logo, khaki shorts and brown sandals.
Law enforcement is looking for a dark blue 1999 Dodge Durango sport utility vehicle with Kansas license plate 133 CLP.
At 6 a.m., authorities announced the Kansas Bureau of Investigation had received a call reporting a suspicious vehicle matching the description of the Durango had been seen about 3 a.m. traveling east on K-156 highway near Great Bend.Anyone with information on Isaiah's whereabouts is asked to call the Garden City Police Department at (620) 276-1300 or the Kansas Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-KS-CRIME.

Just after midnight Thursday morning, the Garden City police department received a 911 call about a missing boy, 2-year-old, Issiah Martinez.

"The mother arrived at the apartment complex, parked her car, left it running, and went to the apartment to pick up her other son," explained Sgt. Michael Reagle with the Garden City Police Department. "She left the child in the backseat of the vehicle, and when she came back out, the vehicle and the child were missing."

An Amber Alert was issued before sunrise, leaving area residents concerned for her family.

I hope the child is brought back to that persons arms," said Chris Strickland. "Quickly. I really do."

Then shortly after 9:00 am, the boy was found

"A citizen located the vehicle in the west alley of the 2500-block of Coachman in Garden City," said Reagle. "The child was found in the vehicle and the child is alive."

The boy appeared to have no injuries, but he was taken to St. Catherine Hospital for precautionary reasons. Now authorities are focused on finding the person responsible.

Reagle added, "Even though the child and the vehicle have been located, we still have a crime that has been committed, and we would like to solve that crime."
