Police are looking for a missing 16-year old who they believe ran away with a 27-year-old wanted man from Gaston.
Ana Alicia Estrada, 16, of Hillsboro was last seen on Friday. Police think she may be on her way to Mexico with Jose Damian Estrada-Cortez, a man she described as her “boyfriend.”



“Police are concerned because of Ms. Estrada-Cortez' age and the possible unlawful relationship the two are involved in,” said Lt. Michael Rouches with the Hillsboro Police Department.
There already had been a warrant out for the arrest of Cortez on unrelated theft charges. Police described him as standing about 5’10” tall, weighing around 250 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Estrada is about 5' tall, weighs around 120 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, police said.

Runaway 16-year-old girl returns home; Hillsboro police continue search for her 27-year-old boyfriend

HILLSBORO -- Police say a runaway 16-year-old girl, who was believed to have left for Mexico with her 27-year-old boyfriend, returned home to Hillsboro Sunday night.

Ana Alicia Estrada about 8 p.m. arrived at the Hillsboro Police Department to be cleared from her runaway status, said Lt. Mike Rouches, Hillsboro police spokesman. She wasn't wanted for any crimes, and was returned to her parents.

She had been missing since Sept. 17, Rouches said.

Estrada reportedly didn't offer police any details about where she went with her boyfriend, Jose Damian Estrada-Cortez, and didn't report that he committed any crimes.

Police are still looking for Estrada-Cortez, of Gaston, and believe he may be in Washington County. He is wanted on a parole violation stemming from a previous theft charge, Rouches said, and detectives are looking for him because of his unlawful relationship with Estrada.

Estrada-Cortez is said to be 5 feet 10 inches tall, 250 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
