It was reported by WESH, the defense has filed a motion to retain the services of a world renowned Dutch expert. Immediately Richard and Selma Eikelenboom of Amsterdam came to mind. They are in fact the pioneers.

In 2003, Selma Eikelenboom formed her own company, Independent Forensic Services, which is a private laboratory in the Netherlands that specializes in recovery or trace evidence and Touch DNA testing.

The touch DNA method—named for the fact that it analyzes skin cells left behind when assailants touch victims, weapons or something else at a crime scene—has been around for the last five years. Touch DNA doesn’t require you to see anything, or any blood or semen at all. It only requires seven or eight cells from the outermost layer of our skin.

Touch DNA is the latest improvement in the cutting edge technology of DNA.
