Police are looking for a 14-year old Upland girl who may have been kidnapped by a 34-year-old man suspected of abducting teenage girls and forcing them into prostitution.
Leroy Bragg was taken into custody at about 8:20 p.m. Tuesday in the backyard of a home in the 13300 block of Roselle Avenue, Hawthorne police Lt. Gary Tomatani said.
Officers shot Bragg with a stun gun as he tried to escape capture by running through backyards and attempting to break into homes.
On Thursday, Bragg pleaded not guilty to human trafficking of a minor, prostitution of a minor and burglary.
The victim in that case was a 13-year-old runaway girl who Bragg allegedly forced into prostitution.
Bragg, who also uses the alias Edwards Quincy and the street name "Snipe King," is charged with pandering by procuring a minor under 16, soliciting for a minor prostitute under 16, and first-degree burglary with a person present.



Bragg is also suspected of kidnapping Krystina Cordasco earlier this week.
Cordasco vanished from her home in the San Bernardino County city on Monday, Upland police Sgt. Greg Signorio said.
Family members did not immediately report her missing because of her past history of running away.
However, they notified police investigating Bragg because she previously was associated with him, Signorio said.
Bragg is being held on $1.3 million bail and faces 25 years to life in prison convicted.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 12.

A 14-year-old Upland girl who reportedly has been forced into prostitution remained missing Thursday, but police said she might be somewhere in Hawthorne.

Police said Thursday they did not have evidence that suspected pimp Leroy Bragg of Hawthorne abducted Krystina Cordasco, but said "there is information indicating she may have been abducted by subjects known to her."

"These subjects are believed to be associated with a group of individuals from the Los Angeles area involved in the exploitation and prostitution of young girls," Upland police Sgt. Greg Signorio said in a statement.

Prosecutors on Thursday charged Bragg, 34, with human trafficking involving a minor. The victim in that case is not Krystina, but a 13-year-old runaway girl who Bragg allegedly forced into prostitution, prosecutors said.

Bragg, who was arrested Tuesday night in Hawthorne when police went looking for Krystina, also was charged with pandering by procuring a minor under 16, soliciting for a minor prostitute under 16, and first-degree burglary with a person present.

Bragg pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Thursday afternoon in Los Angeles Superior Court. He was held on $1.3 million bail.

A complaint filed against him showed he is a potential third-striker with previous burglary convictions and could be sent to prison for life if convicted.

Krystina vanished from her home on Monday. Her father, Peter Doesburg, said Bragg allegedly abducted her a few months ago while she was with friends in Los Angeles, and forced her into prostitution.

Doesburg said the girl has worked on Los Angeles area streets, forced to make up to $600 a night. The father said she returned home last week, but left again on Monday because Bragg had threatened to rape and kill her mother and sisters if she did not return to work for him.

"Come home," Doesburg said. "Everything's OK and we will protect you. You've got nothing to worry about."

Prosecutors said Bragg uses the alias Edwards Quincy and the street name "Snipe King." Krystina has the words "King Snipe's Bitch" tattooed on her right breast, her father said.

"It's crazy," the father said. "He's been drugging her twice a day. We've had her home a couple of times."

Police said Bragg likely did not collect her from Upland, but someone else might have picked the girl up.

Krystina's family members did not immediately report her missing Monday because of her history of running away. However, they notified Los Angeles police vice detectives investigating Bragg because she previously was associated with him, Signorio said.

A 20-member team from the Upland Police Department went door to door in Hawthorne on Wednesday night in an effort to find the girl.

"They are brainwashing these young children," Signorio said. "We just want to get her back. She is in danger."

The FBI has joined the investigation.

"We have information to believe she may be somewhere in the city of Hawthorne or some other area in Los Angeles County," Signorio said. "Several L.A.-area residents have reported seeing the juvenile since her disappearance from her home.

Doesburg described his daughter as a "goofy" girl who went to school and did her homework until she encountered Bragg while on a trip with friends to Los Angeles. He alleged that Bragg kidnapped her and forced her to engage in sex with men for money.

He called Krystina very intelligent and persuasive, but said she is showing signs of addiction to Ecstasy and the drug GHB, and uses marijuana.

"It's disheartening," the father said. "You have your dreams for your little girls. Not six months ago, we were talking about how she was going to the charter school and wanted to go to school and college."

The father said his daughter was arrested last week in Los Angeles and returned home. She has described living in apartments with other girls who have been forced to meet with men from North Hollywood to Los Angeles to the South Bay.

Each had a quota and was beaten if they could not meet it, he said.

"She is constantly in danger and who knows if the next guy she is with might kill her," he said. "You've just got to believe and be positive and let God be in control."

Krystina is 5 feet 8 inches tall and 155 pounds with blue eyes and auburn hair that recently was dyed blond with brown highlights.

She has a tattoo of a colored butterfly on her lower back.

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A missing 14-year-old girl has been found, but L.A. police suspect her disappearance may be linked to a man suspected of abducting young teenage girls and forcing them into lives of prostitution.

The details of the case are still unclear but the good news is that a 14-year-old girl believed to have been kidnapped and forced into prostitution is safe Friday afternoon.

Because she's believed to have been a victim of sexual assault her identity was not released. The young kidnapping victim is safe in LAPD headquarters waiting to be reunited with her family.

Her father told Eyewitness News his daughter called him Friday afternoon to say she was riding on a city bus using a passenger's cell phone, and that she had been kidnapped, assaulted and locked up for three days by Leroy Bragg.

Bragg, 34, was arrested by authorities Tuesday in connection to the kidnapping of another victim, a 13-year-old girl who was also found.

Bragg is charged with human trafficking, burglary and pimping.

An investigator close to the case who didn't want to be identified said Bragg may have other victims.

"This is pretty typical in these situations," said the investigator. "There's both the actual physical beatings to cause submission to get young girls to obey, but there's also the threats of violence against the females and the family of the females, often in these situations, to keep them within his control. We think as this investigation unfolds additional victims will be added, but as I said that's kind of preliminary at this point."

Bragg pleaded not guilty when he appeared in court Thursday in connection to charges connected to the 13-year-old victim.

LAPD detectives are now questioning the latest victim, the 14-year-old, trying to sort out exactly what happened, but her father says his daughter met Bragg a few months ago when she ran away from home.

She was arrested last week and was able to return home, but disappeared again. According to her father she disappeared because Bragg threatened he would rape and kill her mother and sisters if she did not return to work for him.
