A Schaumburg father picked up his 3 1/2-month-old son from day care today and has not been seen since, missing a doctor's appointment and remaining unavailable by cell phone, police said.

Chris Miller, 29, had taken a larger amount of breast milk and diapers than would have been needed for the rest of the day, according to his wife, and police said there's a possibility the father and son are en route to his family in Louisville, Ky., in a 2003 black VW Beetle with Illinois license plate of L324339.At this point police do not believe the child, Jackson Miller, is in danger, and have not sought an Amber Alert in the case yet, said Schaumburg Police Sgt. John Nebl. However, the information has been entered into the LEADS police information system.Officials had no indication that there were problems in the family and it is not considered a child-custody case, but it was very unusual for Miller to not be in contact with his wife and police want to make sure of the safety of the two, Nebl said.Anyone with information is asked to call Schaumburg police at 847-882-3586.

October 6, 2010 (SCHAUMBURG, Ill.) (WLS) -- A Schaumburg man and his child have been reported missing after never showing up at a doctor's appointment on Wednesday.


Police say Chris Miller, 29, picked up his four-month-old son, Jackson, from daycare and was supposed to take him to a doctor's appointment. Neither made it to the appointment. Any attempts to contact Miller on his cellphone have been unsuccessful as his phone appears to have been turned off. Miller's wife says her husband took a larger amount of breast milk and diapers than would have been necessary for the rest of the day.

Miller is 6'0" and weighs 180 pounds.

Authorities say the two are likely driving in a 2003 Black Volkswagen Beetle (Illinois plate #L324339) and may be en route to his family in Louisville, Kentucky.

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (STMW) - Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a Schaumburg man who went missing after picking up his infant son from daycare Wednesday.

Chris Miller, 29, picked his infant son, Jackson, from daycare and was supposed to have taken him to a doctor’s appointment, according to an alert from Schaumburg police. Neither Miller nor his son made it to the appointment, and they have not been heard from since.

Attempts to reach him have been unsuccessful and it appears his cell phone has been turned off, the alert said.

Miller’s wife told police he appeared to have taken more breast milk and diapers with him than would be necessary for the day, the alert said.

The two are likely in a 2003 Black Volkswagen Beetle with Illinois plate L324339 and may be en route to visit his family in Louisville, Ky., the alert said.

"Chris, please, I love you. We all love you very much. We miss you. We miss Jackson. Please, please contact us; let us know you're OK. Let us know that Jackson is OK," she said.
