Police investigators at Utah State University say they arecontinuing to investigate a missing person case involving a17-year-old Wisconsin girl who had reportedly indicated she plannedto run away. Katherine "Katie" Rae Allison was last seen around 8 p.m. Oct. 15at the University Inn, according to a website established about thegirl's disappearance.

Police Capt. Steve Milne said Allison was living at a group home inCache County and was awarded a stay at a local hotel with friendsand family."Based upon her good behavior, Katie was awarded an overnight staywith her mother and some other students from the academy," saidMilne. "That evening, she told her mom she was going down to thelobby to get a magazine, and when she didn't return her mom wentdown looking for her."Milne said information obtained from Allison's journal and otherstudents indicated she planned to leave Cache Valley and go to SaltLake City to acquire drugs before traveling east to an unknownlocation.On Wednesday the girl's mother, Linda Cornwell, said she hired aprivate investigator to find Allison."I have been using Facebook to get the word out," said Cornwell."And I've worked with four different missing person agencies. We'retrying to get this out as widely as possible."Allison is 5-feet, 2-inches tall and weighs about 125 pounds. Shewears braces and has two scars each approximately 1-inch long nearher jaw line. She sometimes wears glasses and was last seen wearingyoga pants with a zebra waistband, a black T-shirt with a black andwhite scarf, a wool black pea coat and blue suede loafers.Cornwell said her daughter suffers from a mental health condition.She believes Allison doesn't want to be found.Milne said the girl turns 18 in March, which will void all missingchild alerts.Meanwhile, he said, Allison's information has been entered into anational police information network and at the National Center forMissing and Exploited Children.The website set up by the girl's mother iswww.findkatieallison.com.

The search is continuing for Katie Allison, 17, who went missing while staying at the University Inn with her mother on Oct. 15.

Allison, originally from Racine, Wis., was attending Uinta Academy in Wellsville, a small residential treatment center and academic program for troubled teenage girls, licensed by the State of Utah Department of Human Services. Residents receive therapy and psychiatric help. Each girl is also given a horse they are responsible for during their time at the academy.

Allison had been at Uinta Academy since July. Because of good behavior, she and a few other students, got to spend the night away from campus with their families at the University Inn.

The Racine community is asking for help in locating one of its own, who has been missing since October 15, 2010.

Katie Allison, also known as Katherine Rae Allison, 17, has been missing for over two months now.

She was last seen at the University Inn at Utah State University Campus, where she was attending a treatment facility for a mental health illness and ran away during a parent weekend visit.

Her mother, Linda Cornwell with the help of Teentrak Investigations, are requesting any help they can get to locate Katie.

There is a $500 reward for information leading to her safe return.

Teen missing from Utah believed to be in the area


MOUNT PLEASANT — An area mom is still searching for her daughter, who has now been missing since October.
Linda Cornwell last saw her 17-year-old daughter, Katie Allison, Oct. 15 in Logan, Utah, which is about 80 miles north of Salt Lake City. Allison was living at a residential treatment center in Utah and has a history of mental health issues going back more than 10 years, said Cornwell, of Mount Pleasant, who works at SC Johnson.
Investigators have received a tip that she is in the Racine area, but she is still missing, said investigator Jason Brown with Teentrack, a nonprofit that works to help find missing children.
Allison is 5-feet, 2-inches tall, 125 pounds with blue eyes, blonde hair, two scars near her left jaw, and a full set of braces.

I suspect that this young lady has not been found. Rather, she has passed the age of 18, making her an adult and out of NCMEC's purview.
You would think that her prior history would supersede any dropping of the case by LE anyway. I hope...

Shouldn't we leave this in "missing"? It just doesn't seem right that someone should age out of the missing category.

I don't think they would ask people to destroy posters and stop spreading the word if she was still missing.
Also, there have been no more update to suggest she is still missing.

WS pulled her into found with the same notice from NCMEC.
I can find no other source with current info.
