Detectives from the Montgomery County
Police Family Crimes Division continue to search for a missing teenage
girl from Silver Spring.

Karen Moreno Hernandez, 14, of the 8600 block of Carroll Avenue in
Silver Spring, was last seen at her residence on Dec. 23 at 2:30 p.m.
Detectives have received updated information as to the teen's
whereabouts; she may be possibly staying in the Riverdale area of Prince
George's County.

Police and family are concerned due to her age, the extreme cold, and the fact that she has been missing since last Thursday.



Hernandez is 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighs 175 pounds, has brown
eyes, and brown hair with blonde highlights. She was last seen wearing a
black hooded sweatshirt or a black coat and blue jeans.

WASHINGTON - UPDATE: Police say Karen Hernandez returned home Tuesday afternoon unharmed.
