FAYETTE COUNTY, Ga. - Fayette County deputies
are searching for a 12-year-old girl who has been reported missing by
her parents. They say Isabeth Yanez was last seen on December 27 at her
home, and her parents called authorities to report her missing on
Tuesday morning. Isabeth is described as a 12-year-old Hispanic
girl who is 5’2” tall and weighs about 115 pounds. She has long brown
hair and was last seen wearing light-colored blue jeans, a white shirt
and a black jacket. Authorities believe Isabeth may be in the
company of Simon Quintana Guiterrez, 20. They say Guiterrez may be
driving a loaned red 1996 Chevrolet Camaro convertible with a black top.
The vehicle would have Georgia tag number BMH2049.
According to deputies, Isabeth and Guiterrez may be heading to North Carolina or Mexico.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Isabeth Yanez or Simon
Quintana Guiterrez is asked to call Detective E. Harper at the Fayette

Man, 20, a suspect in 12-year-old girl's disappearance

Fayetteville County officers are asking for the public’s help in
finding a missing 12-year-old girl who they believe is with a
20-year-old man.


Isabeth Yanez was last seen Monday at her mobile park home at 1512
Hwy 54 West, sheriff’s spokesman Mr. Donald Mahlon said. Isabeth’s
parents reported her missing at 6 a.m. Tuesday, Mr. Mahlon said.

Investigators said the girl left a note indicating she may be with Mr. Simon Quintana Guiterrez.
It’s unclear how the Bennetts Mill Middle School student met Mr. Guiterrez, Mr. Mahlon said.

“We believe she is with him. We think they were having a relationship,” he said.

Investigators believe the two may be headed to North Carolina or Mexico.

Isabeth is 5 feet, 2 inches, 115 pounds with long brown hair. She was
last seen wearing light-colored blue jeans, white shirt and a black
jacket.

Mr. Guiterrez is likely driving a red 1996 Chevrolet Camaro
convertible with a black top. The car has Georgia license plate BMH
2049.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- Police say a 12-year-old from Fayetteville is missing and police need help finding her and her neighbor.

Isabeth Yanez was last seen Monday night around 9:00 at a home on Highway 54.

Police believe she's with Simon Quntana Gutierrez who is her neighbor.

Detectives initially believed she was a runway, but now they don't think that is the case.

Isabeth and Gutierrez may be traveling in a red, 1996 Camaro convertible, with a black top, and Georgia plates BMH-2049.

Girl could now be in Mexico with 20 year-old man


Investigators with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office are still
searching for 12 year-old Isabeth Yanez who was last seen on Dec. 27.
Investigators said the Fayette County girl may be with 20 year-old Simon
Quintana Guiterrez near Acapulco, Mexico.
Det. Ethan Harper said that Yanez was last seen at her home on Dec.
27 and was reported missing at approximately 6 a.m. on Dec. 28. Yanez is
a 12 year-old Hispanic female, 5’2” in height and weighing 115 lbs. She
has long brown hair and was last seen wearing light colored blue jeans,
white shirt and a black jacket.
Harper said Yanez may be in the company of 20 year-old Simon Quintana
Guiterrez, of an unknown address, who was likely driving a loaned red
1996 Chevrolet Camaro convertible with a black top during the time Yanez
went missing. The vehicle should bear Georgia license plate BMH 2049,
investigators said last week.
Sheriff’s spokesperson Brent Rowan on Monday said the Camaro was
recovered Dec. 30 at the Publix grocery store on Ga. Highway 74 South in Peachtree City.
Investigators believe that Yanez and Guiterrez are currently located
in a city near Acapulco, Mexico, according to Rowan. Fayette County
Investigators are working with the local Mexican authorities, the United
States Marshals Service and the National Center for Missing and
Exploited Children to locate the missing child, Rowan said.

in Mexico.


"It's been really hard on us to not know exactly where she's at and
who's she's with," said the missing teen's mother Estella Garcia.

Two days after Christmas last year, Fayette County Sheriff deputies
say 12-year-old Isabeth Yanez snuck out of her parents' house to meet
with her 20-year-old next-door neighbor Simon Guiterrez -- a man her
parents had forbidden her to see.

Isabeth's parents discovered the two communicating on Facebook and threatened to call the police if the relationship didn't end.

Isabeth left her parents a goodbye letter explaining that she loved Simon and ask them not to try to find them.

Her parents, however, immediately called the police. But because the
case was classified early on as runaway not a kidnapping, Simon managed
to leave the state and slip across the border with Mexico with Isabeth
in tow.

Frustrated as days turned in weeks and weeks into months with no
tangible results, Isabeth's parents contacted the F.B.I. asking them to
join the investigation.

A spokesperson for the F.B.I. says they have opened a case file and
assigned an investigators work with the other local and federal agencies
who've already had a hand in the case.
