Fort Worth, Texas- New information has been obtained by Examiner.com
regarding the identification of a partially-mummified body in Big
Spring, Texas last week.

Linda Anderson, Public Information Officer for the Tarrant County
Medical Examiner's office, says positive identification may not come for
some time, if ever due to the condition of the remains. She noted that
DNA testing will be the only means by which an I.D. can be determined.

Anderson further stated that the age of the body is not know, but appears to be that of a fully-clothed elderly man.

She went on to say that there were no other items found with the remains.

Law enforcement sources were speculating that the remains could have
been that of Hailey Dunn, a teen missing from Colorado City since late
2010. Some reports even claimed that it was 'highly likely' that the
remains would be identified as the girl.

The remains were discovered less than a mile from the area where the
last person to see Dunn alive had been the day she went missing.

COLORADO CITY, TEXAS- A law enforcement source within the Colorado
City Police Department, who wishes to remain unnamed, tells Examiner.com
that Billie Jean Dunn is not a suspect or person-of-interest in the
case of her missing daughter, Hailey Darlene Dunn.

The source says police in Colorado City do not keep Dunn updated on
the case. However, it is believed that there is communication between
the FBI and Billie Dunn, the souce indicated.

When asked if investigators are aware that Dunn had made reference to
the FBI 'digging around' at an airport in search for Hailey even before
the discovery of unrelated remains last week, the souce affirmed that
they had knowledge of the comment.

Hailey vanished from Colorado City on or about December 27, 2010.

Her mother's then-boyfriend, Shawn Casey Adkins, was named a
person-of-interest less than a month into the investiigation. Adkins
told media that Hailey planned to walk to her father's house, then to a
friends to stay the night the day she disappeared. She apparently never
made it to either place.

South Texas Authorities Respond to Reported Hailey Dunn Sightings

Authorities in south Texas recently responded to reported sightings of missing teenager Hailey Dunn.

Anonymous tips were made suggesting Dunn could be in West Columbia, Texas.

There were two separate tips made, one reporting sighting at a high school party in West Columbia, and the second was at Columbia Christian School.

Upon investigation, the chief of the West Columbia Police Department confirmed neither tips were valid.

Hailey Dunn was last seen on Dec. 27, 2010 in Colorado City.

Psychic Coming to Help Search for Hailey Dunn

The search for missing Colorado City teenager Hailey Dunn is expanding.

World-known psychic Gale St. John and investigative reporter Gary Peterson will be coming to Colorado City June 1-5 to assist in the search for the teen.

St. John has made appearances on national news for various missing persons cases, and Peterson is an investigative reporter who's also received national attention.

Dunn search groups raised enough money to bring both to the area to help find Hailey, who went missing in December of 2010.

She was 13 years old at the time of her disappearance.

A self-described practicing psychic and an investigator have joined
the search for clues in the disappearance of Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn.

Gale St. John and investigator Gary Peterson arrived Friday
afternoon, said Holly Jenkins, a volunteer searcher from Midland. The
pair, brought in with private donations, will stay through Tuesday, Jenkins said.
Local law enforcement leaders said they wouldn't rule out any help in
searching for Dunn, who was 13 when she was last seen in December 2010.
"Although we're not a part of it, we're certainly not going to stop
anyone from coming to look for her," said Colorado City Police Chief Roy Owens.
St. John has appeared on "Nancy Grace" and "Larry King Live," among
other television programs. According to her website, St. John was raised in a psychic family.
Jenkins said St. John is familiar with the case and has given directions by telephone to searchers in Colorado City.
Peterson is a death-scene investigator and a missing-person
consultant with more than 40 years of experience as an investigative reporter in Minnesota.

COLORADO CITY, Texas - A prayer vigil and balloon release is set for Saturday, Aug. 25, in Colorado City to observe the 15th birthday of missing teen Hailey Dunn.

Missing teen Hailey Dunn turns 15-years-old

COLORADO CITY, TX (KCBD) - On Tuesday, several people wished missing teen Hailey Dunn happy birthday as they prayed for her safe return. Dunn went missing from Colorado City almost two years ago when she was 13-years-old. Tuesday marked her 15th birthday.

This past Saturday the organization ‘Hope for Hailey' held a prayer vigil and balloon release in honor of Dunn's birthday. People were able to write personalized messages on the balloons before they released them into the air.

Since her disappearance on December 27th, 2010, there has been no trace of Hailey.

Authorities referred to the then-boyfriend of Hailey's mom, Shawn Adkins, as a person of interest in her disappearance but no charges have been filed. Both Adkins and Hailey's mom, Billie Jean Dunn, have moved away from Colorado City.

Volunteer Searchers Release Age-Progression Picture Of Hailey Dunn

COLORADO CITY -- Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn has been missing for more than 2 years.

Dunn's appearance has likely changed in that time, as she was only 13-years-old at the time of her disappearance (on December 27, 2010).

Volunteer search group Hope For Hailey has tried to depict how Dunn might currently appear by posting an age progression image on their Facebook page.

While the image is only an artist's depiction, it does give searchers a general guideline as to her possible appearance.

Searchers have looked for Hailey Dunn in cities across West Texas -- including Big Spring and Odessa.

Still no identity of body found in Scurry. It must have been sadly messed up if they haven't been able to match dental records; at least I wouldn't think that would take long.

When Colorado City teen Hailey Dunn went missing in late 2010, her mother defended live-in boyfriend Shawn Adkins, claiming she didn’t believe he had anything to do with her daughter’s disappearance.

Now, Billie Dunn isn’t so sure.

"I think it's a possibility, a good possibility (Adkins was involved), after seeing the way he reacted when we broke up – and (when) I think back to what local law enforcement had told me and been trying to tell me. I just thought it wasn't true,” Billie Dunn told KTXS in an exclusive interview Wednesday.

Adkins is the only “person of interest” named in Hailey Dunn’s disappearance. Adkins has repeatedly said he had no involvement in the missing person case. Efforts to reach Adkins for comment have been unsuccessful.

Billie Dunn returned to the Big Country this week after skeletal remains were found in a field near Lake J.B. Thomas, about 20 miles from where Hailey Dunn was last seen. Law enforcement continue to try to determine the identity of the remains.

Noting her relationship with Adkins ended a while ago, Billie Dunn said she no longer talks to Adkins or trusts him.

"We have no contact whatsoever and haven't in a long time – and I don't want any contact with him,” she said. “When I finally did get him to move out, he started harassing me badly. I saw another side of Shawn. He harassed me day-in and day-out, at work, at home….cussing me, threatening me.”

And contrary to what some people think, that she was clearly aware of Adkins’ involvement in her daughter’s disappearance, Billie Dunn said she hasn’t covered for Adkins.

“As much as we say we hate each other – and I try not to say hate cause it's such a strong word – but I hate the guy, and people are still saying maybe he did something and I knew about it. I think it's ridiculous. I’ve got such bigger things going on with my daughter missing,” she said.

Statement Analysis: Billie Dunn's Most Critical Words


Q. Why such an over reaction?

A. The liar feels the sting of being caught and even though truthful sentence, "c" does not negate the lies told in "a" and "b", the liar feels that the mantle of "liar" is now overthrown, completely, and exhaustively "proves" the subject to be a truthful person.

The anger also shows the rage of insult over having been previously undraped. It is so that the topic ("c") being truthful, will now make others "pay" for the embarrassment of having been caught on "a" and upon "b", with a desire to have "all forgotten now", and new status of "truthful" granted.

Here is the exchange between Billie Dunn and Nancy Grace, who has grown frustrated with the deceptive responses and does not believe Dunn any longer:
GRACE: Well, I don`t know what to believe, either, because I`m getting all these different stories about you having a New Year`s Eve party, and you`re high when you go take the polygraph. Let me ask you this. Let`s get back to the facts. When was the last time you absolutely are positive you saw Hailey?

Note that Nancy Grace frames the words "you having a New Year's Eve party" within her sentence recognizing that the gathering, the serving of alcohol, and the watching of the ball drop define a party, even if Dunn wishes to deny. She moves past this, but then asks the simple question about the last time Dunn saw Hailey.

BILLIE DUNN: I saw her Sunday night.

Dunn did not address the accusations of telling different stories, having a party, and being high for the polygraph. Billie Dunn does not refute it and Nancy Grace knows this.

"I saw her Sunday night" is a very strong statement. This is likely true. She saw her Sunday night. What did she see? Was it an alive Hailey? Was it a dead Hailey?

This answer, "I saw her Sunday night" should be considered a very important sentence from Billie Dunn.

Objection: It is without sensitivity indicators. Why do you call it "very important"?

Answer: Billie Dunn has given us lots of statements and even against the objection of her attorney, continues to. Billie Dunn's method of deception is to add many words to her answers, and to go beyond the boundary of the question.
It may be that when she gives a short answer, we should pay even closer attention to the fact that it is not the norm for her, but a break in her pattern. This is a critical part of her story. We now get to the point of the most chilling words as Billie Jean Dunn reaches into her memory to choose words, yet it is the addition of one single word which tells us the worst possible news.

GRACE: What time, 10:00 PM?

Mistake. She should ask "what time?" without giving the subject the answer.

BILLIE DUNN: Probably around 10:00.

Two qualifiers for 10:00, "probably" and "around" making it a weak assertion.

GRACE: Now, was that when you looked in her room and it is was dark and you thought she was lying in her bed?

Please note that when this statement is viewed in light of all the other statements made to this point, the analyst is confronted with something possibly horrific.

What is Billie Dunn describing?

Use the standard principles of analysis including body posture, reporting what did not happen, was not thought, and the standard sensitivity principle.

Here we have the critical "cluster of blues" that can solve a case. Here Billie Dunn is inviting us in to see what she saw, with her own eyes:

BILLIE DUNN: "I did see her in her room, but I saw her watching TV.

Monday morning, I looked in her room and it was dark and it looked like she was laying in bed. But I didn`t go touch her, make sure that was her. I just peeked in to make sure she was in bed to ease my mind and..."

1. "I did see her in her room, but..." The word but can refute, negate, or minimize what preceded it. What has caused her to make comparison by putting a pause in her sentence and insert, in less than a micro-second, the word "but"? This is allegedly Sunday night.

2. We have since learned that pornography made by Billie Dunn, was stored on the children's X- box.

3. The subject feels it is important enough to add in "TV"

4. The need to explain why:

In the SCAN technique from LSI, we give "so, since, to, therefore, because" the color coding blue as the highest level of sensitivity that can be found in a statement of someone reported what happened. It is here that the person has a need to tell us "why" something was done. This is often the solving of a case. A single "blue" is a strong sensitivity indicator but two or more "blues" is called a "cluster of blues" in which the information contained with the cluster is the most critical information of a case. Just as we highlight "left" in blue, we highlight "because" in any form that seeks to explain why something was done.

If a question is "what did you do?" and it is answered with an explanation "why", it is critical.

Here we have three blues in one short statement and come to the most important part of everything she had told us.

We are at the most critical point of what happened to Hailey, as described by her mother.

Note that she doesn't tell us that Hailey was laying in bed, but rather says it looked like she was laying in bed. This is how she appeared to her mother.

Most might say "she was laying in bed" but she said it only "looked like she was laying in bed"; as if she is viewing a corpse, who looks peaceful, like as if she is sleeping. She could not bring herself to say she was laying in bed because Hailey was deceased and her corpse looked "like" rather than "was laying" in bed.

This one small word, "like", means to compare, is critical and it is why attorneys do not let guilty clients speak out on television.

She was viewing a corpse. What do most people NOT do to a corpse? She is consistent here:
Next Billie states what she didn't do, touch her.

That which is reported in the negative is important.

Billie didn't touch what looked like it was sleeping in the bed.
Ask yourself in what circumstance you would touch something to make sure what it was.

Would you touch your child to make sure it was him or her in bed?

Hailey is dead and Billie Dunn cannot bring herself to enter the room and touch her.

She cannot do it.

Most people do not like touching a dead body. Dead bodies can look "like" they are sleeping but people do not like to touch them. Even a dead dog in the street: people often poke it with a stick, rather than directly touch it.

Billie Dunn is speaking to you.

She is taking you, the listener, in with her, back to the next morning that, whatever happened the night before, Hailey did not wake up and now is there, as if she was "like" laying in bed but she was not asleep.

For her, the body looked "like" it was asleep.
Now note that Billie "peeked in" to make sure she was in bed to ease her mind. I believe this is true.

Why did Billie need to ease her mind? There was no report of a missing child. There was nothing that we know of, according to her story, that would cause her a need for comfort.

Something had happened to Hailey that Billie needed comfort and something to ease her mind.

There had been drugs the night before, we know that. She even stopped off, like a dutiful daughter, to ask her own mother if she needed drugs and then used the ATM to empty her account to buy drugs. This is something Nancy Grace would soon learn, too.

Hailey did not go to her bed, peacefully, the night before. If that was the case, there would be no reason to "ease" her mother's mind. By this time, the mother was in need of comfort and
reassurance.

There is nothing to soothe or calm, just a sleeping teenager.

What about Hailey being in bed caused Billie's mind to need to be put at ease?

This is what it means to let Billie Dunn guide you with her words. These may be the most important words in the case.

She said that she needed her mind to be put at ease, even though she claimed to last see Hailey, in her own home, at 10PM the night before, watching TV.

No problem reported.

In order to have your mind eased, your mind must be at unease.

Something must happen to put your mind at unease.

Hailey was watching TV at 10PM the night before.

Between 10PM that night, and 6AM the following morning, something upset the mind of Billie Dunn, in which she needed to have her mind eased.

Her choice of words are odd if you think nothing happened, but are perfectly fitting if you believe she and Shawn killed Hailey.

Here Billie Dunn has given herself away, in her attempt to use a multitude of words to make her sound innocent. SCAN's "Cluster of Blues" is the most critical point of her statement.

I believe that the only thing that could ease her troubled mind would be Shawn ridding them of the evidence.

I do feel that the remains are that of a female. The Skull was a little smaller as were the teeth.

The eye sockets were more rounded than a male skull.

There was other evidence that I can not discuss, that also lead me to belive that the remains were female.

As to the Identity I can not say. I just know that DNA will be easy to find.

PH: this is an obvious reference to more being found than just "one tooth" as reported, and that testers will have plenty of sample making it "easy to find" the identity."

Where is this announcement? I think it was Peter Hyatt's Statement Analysis site that had some very interesting information about this. There was a thank-you for looking type comment made by either BD or her lawyer, etc. To me, it sounds like she knows. Also, I think it was mentioned about some item found by the remains that might be Hailey's, IIRC.

I've read several things that, to me, proves they know it is Hailey. Even the mother's actions point towards that conclusion. They found an article of her clothing according to one thing I read.

Maybe they want to do more investigating before releasing that info to the public?

I think that's it. The more carefully they do their investigation, the better the chance of convicting the murderer/s. Plus, the more rope they let out, the more likely it becomes that BD will let more telling words slip. She just can't keep her mouth shut to save her life. Pun not intended, but it fits the situation. If she could keep her mouth shut, it just *might* save her life, but she has already talked too much for her own good, IMHO.

Attorney: Missing cheerleader's remains identified

Human bones found in Scurry County, Texas, last month have been identified as
missing 13-year-old cheerleader Hailey Dunn, according to the family's
attorney.

John Young, attorney for the Dunn family, told HLN that authorities recovered the bones on March 16 off a State highway.

Law enforcement officials told HLN last month the remains were discovered
near Lake J.B. Thomas, which is about 12 miles from Snyder, Texas. The
lake is about 30 miles from Colorado City, where Hailey was last seen
alive at her mother’s home on Dec. 27, 2010.

Hailey's mother, Billie Dunn, was notified of the identification by Texas Rangers on
Friday. She is currently attempting to make travel arrangements to head
back to Colorado City to mourn the loss of her daughter, Young told HLN.


Officials from Scurry County, the Texas Department of Public
Safety, Texas Rangers and the FBI will hold a press conference at 5 p.m.

Mother of Missing Teen Hailey Dunn Arrested

The mother of missing Texas cheerleader Hailey Dunn was
arrested Thursday on three misdemeanor charges after police say she lied
to officers attempting to serve a search warrant on her boyfriend.

Billie Jean Dunn appeared in court Friday morning for arraignment on
charges of hindering a prosecution, false reporting to a police officer
and possession of a dangerous drug, and a judge set her bond at $6,500.

According to CNN affiliate KTAB, authorities obtained search warrants for the
home of person of interest Shawn Adkins’ grandmother in Scurry County,
Texas and for Adkins’ body. When they went to Dunn’s house to execute
the warrant for Adkins, who was her boyfriend and the last person known
to have seen

Hailey alive before she was reported missing on December 27, she allegedly lied to officers about where he was.

The drug charge was reportedly related to prescription medication obtained without a proper prescription.

The judge who issued the warrant for Adkins’ body declined to release any
additional information about what authorities were looking for or why.

KTAB reported that Dunn posted bond Friday afternoon.
