Police searching for missing Silver Spring teen

Girl, 14, last seen by her family when leaving for school Thursday



Karen Mitchell, 14, of Silver Spring, was last seen Friday around the 33300 block of 22nd Street in Southeast Washington D.C.

Montgomery County Police have asked the public for help in locating a Silver Spring teen missing since Thursday.
Karen Mitchell, 14, was last seen by her family when she left for school at 7 a.m. Thursday.
Around 2:30 p.m. Friday, Karen took a taxi cab from Silver Spring to the
33300 block of 22nd Street in Southeast Washington D.C., police said.
She was last seen in the same area around 3:30 p.m.
No foul play is suspected at this time, police said.
Karen is African American, 5-foot, 4-inches tall, weighs about 110
pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. She may be wearing a blazer
jacket with white or gray stripes, jogging pants or jeans and bedroom
slippers.

Update: Missing Girl Located

Karen Mitchell, previously last seen around 3:30 p.m. Friday in Silver Spring, was found in Washington, D.C. on Saturday.

Update, Sunday, Jan. 23, 1:36 a.m.: Karen Mitchell, 14, was located in Washington, D.C. Police report that she is safe and unharmed.
