Baltimore County police seek help in finding missing 14-year-old girl

Baltimore County police are
asking for the public's help in finding a 14-year-old girl who did not
return home from school on Tuesday.

Solothia Andrea Thomas, a student at Overlea High School, may be in the Baltimore area, according police. They said they were "concerned for her safety and well-being."

She was described as black, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 110
pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair and was last seen wearing a
brown coat, blue jeans and gray boots. Solothia has a piercing in her
lower lip, police said.
Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call county police headquarters at 410-307-2020 or the White Marsh precinct house at 410-887-5000.

14-year-old girl found safe in Rosedale fast-food restaurant


Baltimore County police confirmed Friday that a 14-year-old girl declared missing earlier in the week had been found in Rosedale on Wednesday afternoon, the day after she disappeared. She was unharmed.

Solothia A. Thomas, a student at Overlea High School, was found by police at a fast-food restaurant in Rosedale about 24 hours after she failed to return home from school.

Neither of two police spokesmen contacted by The Baltimore Sun could say why the department, having released a news bulletin on Wednesday asking for the public's help in finding Solothia, did not then put out another statement about her being found safe less than 90 minutes later. The statement had expressed concern for the girl's "safety and well-being."
"It is is believed that she was with friends" while she was missing, Lt. Robert McCullough, the chief spokesman for the department, wrote Friday in an e-mail.
