HEMET: Police seek runaway 15-year-old missing three weeks

Hemet police
are seeking the public's help in finding a 15-year-old girl who is
believed to have run away three weeks ago and hasn't been seen since. Hope Kalinowski, a West Valley High School student, didn't come home from school Jan. 5. "We're looking for her, but there's not a whole lot to go on. We don't
feel she's been abducted or found any weird circumstances," Lt. Duane
Wisehart said. "Right now she doesn't want to be found, and whoever
she's with isn't saying anything." Police are not looking for any suspects in her disappearance, he added. Typically, runaways come back within a week to 10 days, Wisehart said,
so police are trying to draw public attention to Hope's lengthier
disappearance. Hope's family has taken to YouTube and Facebook with
pleas for her safe return. In one video, Hope's sister said Hope had
been previously seen walking home from school with an older male. "We really want her to come home," Hope's sister Alyssa said in the
video. Her family could not be reached for comment Thursday. Police have not received any reports of whom Hope may have been with, Wisehart said. Hope is described as 5-foot-3, about 160 pounds, with long brown hair
and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pair of rhinestone skinny
jeans with a black bag and a folder with her family's pictures. Police ask anyone with information to call Detective Josiah Douglas at 951-765-2422

It was determined Kalinowski was not a victim of foul play and had ran away from home on her own accord, Sgt. Jeff Dill said.
