EMMA HAMILTON - 16 yo - Warren (WI border; NW of Rockford) IL
Warren, Ill. —
Family members and area police are asking for the public’s help in
locating runaway teen Emma Hamilton, who was last seen at her family’s
residence in Warren on Jan. 30.
The Warren Police Department is investigating the case, and Hamilton’s
family has distributed fliers throughout the area in an effort to find
her. Hamilton, 16, of Warren left home with her dog, Bailey, in late
January, and family members say she may be with her 17-year-old boyfriend.
“We’re still trying to track her down,” said Robert Hamilton, Emma’s
father, on Friday. “My (main) concern is that she is safe. She needs to
come home. I miss her. I love her. We need to sit down and talk about what’s going on.”
Robert Hamilton, a truck driver, said he was on the road when his
daughter, Emma, left the house. One of his other daughters called and
told him Emma had left, but the reason for her departure was not clear, Robert said.
While Emma’s boyfriend has claimed on the Internet that Emma is not with him,
family members suspect that she is, Robert said.
“I don’t have a clue why she did it,” Robert Hamilton said.
Emma, her boyfriend, and another individual were reportedly trapped in
their car during the blizzard early this month, and had to be rescued by
the Shannon Fire Department, Robert said. The firefighters did not
realize Emma was being sought by police, and she was not detained, Robert said.
Family members believe Emma may be in Stockton currently,
but these reports have not been confirmed.
Warren Police Chief Bryan Bohnsack said the investigation into this
case is ongoing, and that Warren police are doing all they can to locate Emma Hamilton.
“We’re (doing our) due diligence to complete the investigation and try
to locate this subject,” Bohnsack said. “We’ve contacted several other
police departments and they are aware of the case. She’s also listed in
the state computer system as a runaway. ... I just know her family
really wants her to come home, so we are doing everything we can to get her back home.”
Emma Hamilton is described as being white, 5 feet 4 inches tall, 110
pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She and her boyfriend may be
driving a black, four-door Nissan Altima with temporary plates.
If you have information on this case, contact the Warren Police
Department at (815) 745-2418, or Robert Hamilton at (815) 745-8019. If
you see Emma, you should call 911 or your local police department so
authorities can be dispatched to the area as soon as possible, Bohnsack said.
