Kansas City police are seeking information about a 12-year-old girl
who left school with an older teen she knew and hasn’t contacted her
family in a week.Mayra Gutierrez was last seen leaving her school
with 18-year-old Manuel Ramos in a white Ford F-150 a week ago. Her
family and police would like to verify her welfare, police said. Police
don’t have a reason to suspect foul play but want to contact her because
of her young age. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the
police department’s youth unit at 816-234-5150.

I don't understand this. It sounds as though neither the family or police are too bothered that a 12 year old has been missing for a WEEK and was last seen after school with an 18 year old guy. WTH??????
They've only just started looking now? What's wrong with society today??

KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Kansas City police are looking for a missing 12-year-old girl who left with a teenager a week ago. Twelve-year-old Mayra Gutierrez was last seen leaving voluntarily with 18-year-old Manuel Ramos on Feb. 11. They left in a white Ford F-150.
